I’m trying to get at least 350 people RSVP’d for this. I figure the more people who feel confident that they can take action right now the better. It’s a week away and we’re at 229 now. Not too shabby!

Happy to announce that the final version of our paper on #endothelial cell #migration #mechanobiology, #angiogenesis, #hydrostaticpressure is out on @elife.bsky.social doi.org/10.7554/eLif... !! In our revised paper, we show that disrupted osmotic gradient and water inflow impair tip cell migration!

Every scientist, long before they were a scientist, was a little kid who stood in front of a fish tank or stared up at the stars or turned over a rock to look at the bugs underneath and said “wow”. On the best days, working in science still feels like that.

I'm loving the starter packs! But didn't see one for all CNS injury researchers (stroke, TBI, SCI, etc). Can you help me build it? go.bsky.app/PPPHzU2

We are looking for motivated post docs. Projects on Alzheimer’s and Synucleinopathy. New mouse models, combined lightsheet/15.2T MRI and high throughput cognitive testing using touchscreens. Perfect for a recent graduate in Neurosciences or related field. Come work with us in 🇨🇦 👊😀🧪 please share.

There can be lots of gatekeeping in the cycling community so just remember that when it comes to biking there are only two rules: Wear what you want. Ride what you want. Content done with @thebikinglawyer.bsky.social

While I realize this is not relevant to many of the present day discussions, the remarkable similarity of organisms at the biochemical, genetic, cellular, and physiological levels is not understood by many people. 1/n

Interesting paper, and neat methods! Curious how the behavioural and cellular effects observed here were influenced by bolus administration of microplastics in mice versus the more gradual circulating accumulation one would see in humans via regular use of plastic products.

Since announcing this, tiktok went down, came back, & blasted Trump propaganda 2x. The internet will be an even tougher place for science. I have enough to fund ~5 of these projects. More than 5 should be funded. They're going to be v important. Help us fund more if you can. givebutter.com/29Ow9Y

Look at this! Apparently academics can think more deeply about our values than just counting citation and grant $$.

I have seen more and more fellow e-bike commuters out and about in #yeg. In Canadian cities that have urban spread and frigid temperatures for 4-6 months of the year, encouraging this kind of commute requires dedicated infrastructure- but if you build it and maintain it, the people will come!

Nice short review of some recent literature--I am in the "Both are epithelial tissues" camp

Anytime I read about the extracellular matrix, I’m left amazed at its complexity and integral role in so many aspects of brain health and disease! Much more than “brain goop” indeed.
