One of my actual real archaeology professors in college used to say “every archaeologist needs a geologist best friend.” He would then proceed to show hokey pictures of him on digs with his geologist bestie. Elzar 100% does this with his geological oceanographer bestie, Dr. Keven Tarr.

I TAKE IT BACK He was just on her PhD committee. Committee members let students get away with a lot more than PIs do.

Maru is the head of the music department. He was Avar’s major professor and he absolutely adores her crazy ass. This is why Avar gets away with doing literally whatever she wants all the time. Elzar calls her spoiled (he’s right).

Reath is working diligently to get tenure, despite Elzar’s best efforts to pull him into rebellious, “ask for forgiveness, not permission”-style shenanigans. Elzar thinks Reath needs to live a little! He’s helping! …And hopefully annoying department head Ry Ki-Sakka at the same time.

Elzar talks shit about Indiana Jones all the time, but strictly refers to him as “Dr. Jones” specifically to keep his students guessing if he’s talking about a real person.
