@bellatrixortreat.bsky.social and I were shooting in Alaska near a road and when we’d hear a vehicle she would drop down into the tall grass. Thankfully it wasn’t at a busy time of day or she would have looked like a whack a mole game popping up and down in the grass. We both got a good laugh.

Looks like she “almost” fits in the overhead bin. Nice shot

And no where near as crowded as the more famous spots nearby. I waited in line for over an hour to get into goblin valley park and never even got to the toll booth before calling no joy and heading back to the swell. In late October even.

I shot this Timelapse from probably the same location you shot her photo at as it looks like the same spot we scouted. You can see the rain clouds move in on me and the next morning it was pouring buckets and had to cancel.

She and I attempted to shoot there back in October but got rained out. Will try again this year hopefully

Heading to Hawaii next week to photograph a nude model and there are a few black sand beaches we hope to hit while there

I see you haven’t been to Alaska yet. If you need help with planning anything or finding subjects let me know. I guide photographers and others all over Alaska and am doing nude photography up here as well as traveling out of state to do shoots.

As a natural ginger myself, I appreciate and applaud you for highlighting red heads.

Flying from Alaska to Kona in exactly two weeks from today to photograph a nude model for a week and we might have to check out this location. Any other spots you recommend?

I currently don’t have a four legged therapist because I’m never home cause I’m always working. So I have to go play with the sled dogs here in Alaska to get some dog hairs on me and drooled on like I have a dog of my own again.

Better luck next year. I on the other hand, didn’t even enter. So I guess I win.

I still identify primarily as a wildlife and nature photographer but have started fineart in nature photography as well as it’s still wild creatures in nature so still right in my wheelhouse.

If I can ever quit working you know I’ll be there

@bellatrixortreat.bsky.social is the best. Only worked with her once so far but we have plans to shoot again many times in the future.

There’s tons of water here in Alaska. More shoreline than the rest of the United States combined. Although it tends to be a might chilly outside of summer. But glacial water is some of the clearest you’ll ever see. And the ice formations would be an awesome backdrop.

I had to put on a light jacket today cause it was a bit chilly here at work. Flying back to Anchorage after a two week work hitch and it’s 40 degrees warmer there than here so be back to T-shirt weather in a couple hours.

Thank you. Been a bit busy the past week with all the holiday parties I am catering so haven’t posted as much as I’d like too. More images coming soon though

I would have moved a few steps closer and to the left and just had one of the foreground logs in view but still had the three ladies and the awesome sunset. The second log that’s cut off is a distraction and lots of dead space between the camera and the logs. But still a great shot.

Remember this motto to live by: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate and wine in one hand, body thoroughly used up, worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Re-read tips; start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner.

9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards.

8. Same for pies. Apple, Pumpkin, Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert, Labor Day?

7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention.
