Unfortunately many of us tech enthusiasts get too enamored with the latest innovations. We forget that tech should serve a purpose, not just “be cool”. In fact, while I love AI agents, most business use cases are better solved with specialized AI workflows, not agents.

But wait—this poem's outdated!
The models just evolved.
The paragraphs above are quaint;
New frameworks have resolved
The limitations mentioned
In stanza number three.
My metaphors are ancient now;
That's AI's destiny.

Today they write your emails,
Tomorrow who can say?
Perhaps they'll solve big problems
In their computational way.
The future holds such promise,
With tools we've yet to meet,
As silicon and neurons
Perform a dance so sweet.

AI agents scheduling
The meetings that you dread,
Remembering your mother's birthday
So you can sleep instead.
The pace of change is dizzying,
Like watching seedlings grow
In fast-forward motion—
Blink twice and whoosh, they blow!

Good chart. But like most charts like this, it’s missing some important models. Things change so quickly though…

I like being somewhere in the middle, and finding AI to be a “useful tool with negative externalities”… like many tools. I’m old enough to remember the same hype/negativity about the internet… and many other tools.

I haven’t played with Deepseek yet. I know many people are impressed with the price. But I’m hesitant and cautious.

I agree completely. And the simplest (single topic) prompt usually provides the best response. That’s true for almost any LLM interaction.

It’s a multistep agentic workflow instead of a real multiagent application since the customer only wanted document search. But we’re including some creative chunking and retrieval strategies that are providing very good results so far. Now we’re adding voice and image input.

Well to be honest, his input was good. And I’ve already built multimodal apps.
