Every public service worker is hired out of absolute necessity. The labor force is the bare minimum to perform critical tasks, so yeah, this is about punishing people and destroying an independent bureaucracy. Real intent at reform would be tasked to GAO and IGs; firing them told us everything.

We have allowed an entire generation of entitled insecure man-children to redefine "masculine" (to speak loudly and carry a very little stick) and "feminine" (to serve and mother said man-children w/out thought or complaint). Neither of these definitions would be conceivable generations ago.

Useful streetcars. I think it has to start with re-establishing livability, no more 'catalyst developments'. Tons more housing around (but not necessarily on) neighborhood high streets, leading to increased commercial activity, to pay for a transportation revolution centered on bikes and transit.

Great thread. I rarely listen to anything newer than Gershwin, but I certainly enjoyed watching the halftime show. The symbolism, choreography, the music itself, all very enjoyable. I didn't know the lore. I had no idea about Serena and only a vague understanding of the Drake thing. It was fun!
