I've noted some of the procedural things Democrats could be doing in Congress, but this point from @edgeofsports.bsky.social's great piece in the Nation deserves emphasis.
This is basic politics, and it's baffling that every Democrat isn't doing it every day.

This is no joke
1 - Communicate
Every single thing this administration is doing.
2 - Memorialize
A central place to track ALL OF IT.
3 - Obstruct
Every method of procedure and protest.
4 - Sue
Including the courts.
And then back to 1.
I’m pretty damn sure Congressional staffers already know affected people. They can start *now* while they collect for the future.
We need rapid response, and the Dems are still focusing on the evening news.
Not sure what you mean about “legal standard”, but a party’s primary job is to WIN. Message and win. And if you ask an average voter, they’ll say the Dems’ message is 🤷🏻.
The time for civility is long past. Even Miss Manners, a DC institution, advises the "cut direct" in cases of "extreme bad behavior".
I think a coup qualifies.

@DNC—let's f*cking go!
How many of the people yelling at Dems to "do something!" are willing to die themselves, just to get the truth out? Not many. Not many at all.

Because those in power and across the aisle are not their enemies. Try to primary Chuck or Nancy and you'll see who their actual enemies are.
Least charitable explanation is that Dems leaders support these cuts
=====
.... Maybe if Democratic leaders pretended Elon Musk was a 22-year-old Palestinian from Dearborn, Michigan, they’d show more fight.🤷♀️

“Democrats aren’t countering Fox News and AM radio messages!”
—columnists and talking heads
Put them on committees to reverse their specific areas of Project 2025, and rebuild better.
The Dem party should be taking online submissions from the limitless number of people who are more than capable of doing this for them.
Where’s the great Nancy Pelosi who went on the war path to get rid of Biden?
@chuckschumer.com seems to be asleep.
Good luck Democrats counting on winning any future elections.
I like the idea of cursing and being wildly inappropriate. Say stuff the media simply can’t ignore
The phrase I've been using is Democrats are trying to win a knife fight by reading poetry.
But christ we need more muscular things, things that will throw them iff balance
Ramp it up. Bigly.

Trump had Bill's accusers front row at the debate -- Democrats, nothing.
They're using the destruction of your nation as a political tool.
No help is coming. You guys need to start doing something before it's too late.
AAnd in case you don't know this, he is not a Democrat.

The others, especially Lovett, got on my last nerve.
Hanging out on Twitter tells me who they want to reach. Not me.
The problem in this country is that the American voter isn't serious. Everyone is addicted to the drama of politics but have no interest in how things work.
They're not just political leaders though. They're supposed to be representatives to help govern the country and check the executive's power.
We'll just have to see how it plays out.
I screamed hellfire how important it was to unite, and the far left spent its time talking about how they hope Trump gets elected.
They are just people looking for attention and mad the world didn't orbit them.
We need the people we voted into office to represent their constituents by getting out there in front of caneras & doing what we need them to do.
Elected politicians are widely limited when the only thing their constituents do is post online to do something.
Case in point: two weeks ago Senate Dems spent 16 hours camped out on the floor to protest Vought's confirmation. They did so specifically because people thought they "weren't doing enough."
What I suspect may be "baffling" is certain members of the media not understanding that congresspeople giving traditional speeches won't help.
What WILL help? This.
Showing up as a guest on nearly every news program in the US is a far better, and certainly more modern, strategy.
Hearing Schumer yet again "espouse grave concerns" is useless.
To the people who say, “What could they be doing? They’re in the minority.” THIS is only one of the things they should be doing.
hold press conferences daily - including the AP - to present these stories and counter misinformation!
They thought they could ride this out as a retirement plan, and now, at the end of their lives, they need to prepare for the fight of their lives.
Biden took one for the team and did the presidency to ensure Trump gone and now we are here.
they're like that "Good Cop, Bad Cop" routine. Both on the same side (to screw you) but one cop (the Dems) PRETENDS to be sympathetic to you.
The GOP sprints to the right, the Dems shuffle to the right... and you poor peasants are supposed to be SO GLAD that the Dems aren't QUITE as bad.
bashing Dems is not helpful. call and offer your help to their comms staff.

The other Dem senator? Never has had staffers answer his phones.
That said, there are people willing to talk. Some of them were on The Daily this morning.
11. Manage disinformation going around in silos that is targeting non English speakers.
12. Make your local Democratic parties responsive to public complaints.
13. Monitor local police who ignore complaints.
6. Functioning slander libel laws in the criminal code because many people cannot afford civil lawsuits.
7. Better privacy protections from journalists.
8. Code of ethics for journalism with enforcement teeth.
9. Coordinated group efforts to help victims.
2. The games they play taking a 1/2 backed & slanderous storyies in a shitty paper and propelling it upward into more credible news sources.
3. The lack of journalists running cover for regular people.
4. Lack of journalists will to ask questions.
it's a real disgrace for this party to see so few figures to stand up against Orange and Muck gang. Thankfully you have folk like AOC or Sanders.
This would be obvious to anyone operating in good faith and not just Dem bashing for clout.
isn't this precisely the kind of floundering fecklessness we expect from dem leadership [sic]? the same fecklessness that republicans count on? (it's been their reliable adjutant lo these last 30+ years.)
1-Dems will hardly do anything w/o poll-testing it. That leads both to delays and inaction (bcz the polls are often absurd—eg 2004, Kerry cmpgn polled on attacking W for 9/11. Came out
2-Dems don’t get that making statements is USELESS if not endless REPEATED.
3-Dems don’t get the msging needs to be coordinated, organized and REPEATED!!
4-Dems don’t get that they need to be performative. Otherwise,
I could go on.
Bottom Line: they ain’t got it.
Solution: HIRE EX-REPUBLICANS. And do what they say.
It’s never going to happen.
If the media is not going to do it for us, why should they do it for elected Dems?
If it's about policy or legal action, then sure, let's pressure the Dems.
(It's been obvious to me since the early '90s that corporate media were cheerleaders for fascism. Others knew it in the '60s.)
