I think they’ll do the same thing with the national parks if they can get away with it. They’re going to be building hot Springs spas and shiny hotels in places where they do not belong.

That’s a stunner

I don’t think I’d like it, but my husband has some kind of thing with mustard and bananas so he might. Thinly sliced tart apples with grilled cheddar cheese would be good. OTOH, brie, cranberries, and sourdough

Is she a chimera? Her face is so markedly bilateral.

I’m still not over Beth March’s death in Little Women. I don’t suppose that counts.

Anyone who focuses on the Terrible Twos has forgotten about the tempestuous Threes! Two-year-olds have such nice short attention spansand you can distract them when they’re mad. Not with the threes. They hold a grudge.

We could build mazes out of trails of snack foods, lead them into dark rooms, lock them in, and force them to watch Casablanca till they actually get the message and cry for real.

If I were pie, I'd be so flattered and feel like my existence had slightly extra-special meaning.

The Woman Who Demonstrated the Greenhouse Effect Eunice Newton Foote showed that carbon dioxide traps the heat of the sun in 1856, beating the so-called father of the greenhouse effect by at least three years. Why was she forgotten? www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-...

Technically I'd have to sit on the nazi because I just don't throw a very effective punch.

I get that sense as well. Tom Robbins's "Skinny Legs and All" is a prescient (but fictional?) book, in that the xtian right actually want an antichrist to bring down the apocalypse & subsequent second coming. Since we've got fires, floods, storms, and pestilence, 45/47 checks a lot of boxes.

I'm so sorry you experienced that!!! Although I was not abused by clergy or teachers, I've known quite a few people who were. It's especially devastating because they're supposed to be service-oriented and set good examples. They abuse their power to persuade, groom, and intimidate. It's sickening.

Just as I was coming of age to vote, Reagan was working to destroy California's middle class. He's lauded by Republicans as some kind of savior, but the longterm repercussions of his administration (cough Dick Cheney cough)...well all I can say is "beware the military industrial complex"

If you lived nearby, I'd invite you over for tea and a delightfully absorbing Embroidery Floss Sorting Session (is it brown? is it purple? is it puce? It's all relative!). #crafting #colortheory
