#Galway Ring Road: I’ve now read through the updated Traffic Modelling Report submitted by @GalwayCoCo to ABP. And I’m more convinced than ever that this project cannot be justified in its current form.🧵

EU: Selective solidarity does not come any more blatant.

Reminder that this public consultation event is happening today in the Clybaun Hotel between 1pm and 8pm

This is really wonderful volunteer role - providing support and friendship to older people in the Galway City area - interested? bit.ly/42pObJZ

Galway deserves a chance to breathe, but emotive arguments cannot brush away the fact a second ring road will suffocate the city in traffic irishcycle.com/2025/04/24/g...

The second round of public consultation for the Kingston/Millers Lane scheme has begun. Click into the link below to see the 6 initial design proposals and give your feedback. This Tuesday the 29th, there's a drop-in consultation in the Clybaun Hotel between 1pm and 8pm. kingstonparkmillerslane.com

Galway Masters Hurling, in association with Spunout are doing a virtual cycle from Shop Street to Croke Park tomorrow between 10am & 6pm to promote positive mental health through sport & exercise. I'll be popping in to show my support. Free text "Hello" to 50808 if you ever need to talk.

The @irishwoodlandtrust.bsky.social has bought 82 acres of Atlantic rainforest, bog, + heath for protection in Connemara, their 14th reserve. This is absolutely brilliant, and shows the way. How can the Irish state, with all its resources, still not manage to properly protect our national parks???

This is brilliant news! I've been a supporter and member of the Native Woodland Trust for years. Delighted to see them finally purchase a site in Galway 🌳🌳🌳

If you come across any public blue badge bays that have faded paint, can you take a photo and send me the location to [email protected]. These should all have white paint on a blue background. There's too much abuse of these bays in general. I'm making a list of locations to send to the team

The Irish Cycling Campaign is deeply saddened by the heartbreaking news from Galway, where a 6 year old girl lost her life following a road traffic incident while cycling. www.irishcyclingcampaign.ie/2025/04/trag...

This is such an upsetting story. I can't even begin to imagine the utter grief and devastation that this family are enduring. m.independent.ie/irish-news/g...

Absolutely disgusting.

The Salthill Village & Seafront Framework consultation continues today in the Prom carpark from 1030 - 1600. All residents of the community are invited to come along and share your views. An online survey is also now open for you to make your own submission: www.galwaycity.ie/homepage/sal...

We've had a great response since launching our service last week. Landowners from Antrim to Wexford and from Kerry to Meath have been in touch and are ready to pledge their land for rewilding!

Tree removal works will be carried out next week on Bóthar Stiofáin in advance of the construction of the active travel scheme on this road. Works are being carried out now in advance of nesting season, which begins March 1st. The project is on schedule with works beginning later this year.

I've put all my newsletters, press releases, submitted motions and questions, and all my priorities for this council term on a new website. www.cllralancurran.com. I hope it's useful, please contact me if there's any more information you'd like to see. [email protected]

Nilay was a qualified soccer coach who helped train kids of different ages and abilities with Knocknacarra FC. She helped with our u6/7 girls every Saturday morning with great enthusiasm, warmth, and encouragement. We were shocked to hear about her death. The story below is heartbreaking.

I was delighted to take Leonard Cleary, the Chief Executive of @galwaycitycouncil on a walk around our recreational and amenity areas of Knocknacarra earlier today looking at the challenges and opportunities that exist. (1/3)

Welcome to Rewild! If you have land in Ireland and you want to rewild it but are not sure how, this is the site for you! www.rewildyourland.ie

Every councillor is given an allowance of €30,000 p.a. to spend on projects within their local area as part of the Local Improvement Scheme (LIS) allocation. It's generally spent on improving infrastructure such as repairing footpaths, resurfacing laneways, improving playground/sports facilities etc

This is what should be on every front page right now. What's happening in the US right now is an illegal power grab by a private citizen. IT'S A COUP. It's a digital coup. It's Musk who's leading it. The consequences are terrifying. And it's coming for us next. 1/ open.substack.com/pub/broligar...

Great engagement and conversations down in Blackrock earlier at Salthill Seafront consultation by @galwaycitycouncil.bsky.social. Plenty more workshops taking place over the weeks and months ahead. See further information and updates at the website below: www.galwaycity.ie/homepage/sal...

I think the images launching the Salthill Village and Seafront Framework are fantastic. The growing communications team within the council @galwaycitycouncil.bsky.social have really upped their public engagement in the last few months. Incredibly positive to see 👏👏 www.galwaycity.ie/homepage/sal...

A new website giving details about the Salthill Village and Seafront Framework Plan has just been launched. It's not a demolition site it's a mass grave. It's not a demolition site it's a crime scene. It's not a demolition site its a homeland. It's not a demolition site it's Palestine. It's not a demolition site it's a genocide.
