In 1777, George Washington ordered all Continental Army troops to be vaccinated against smallpox. It’s almost like America has a history of supporting vaccines. Until now, that is.

I'm normally cynical about politicians but this is statesmanship. It is affirming republican civic virtue. Not irony-poisoned snark, not focus-grouped talking points. The oath to the Constitution matters, and it's time to speak plainly and earnestly about how our fundamental principles are at stake.
