Damnit, they get me every time. I think I have an addiction. www.kickstarter.com/projects/pea...

Received an email where the first line included "compliance is my passion". Admittedly they are an accountant, but it still made me shudder.

I finally got around to jotting down a few notes on using my Ray-Ban Meta Glasses: tink.uk/using-ray-ba... #MetAI #AI #AssistiveTech

I'm got a question about which type of CAPTCHA is best for accessibility. I found my self saying: It's like asking whether sea water is more dry than tap water, they are both intrinsically wet!

Apple's recipe thing, which is part of the News app seems great. Interesting recipes, clear structure and no ads popping up on you. Main problem: How the *bleep* do you find it? It is in the "today" feed if you scroll down a lot, but it is something you need to get straight to, with a button.

I'm looking forward to the Magnifier feature on MacOS: www.macworld.com/article/2780... My vision isn't too bad, but I'm old enough that small print on paper is an issue. Also, it could be an adaptable tool for hybrid meetings with whiteboard or paper-based things!

I have a small second monitor underneath my main large monitor. If there is too much white on the screen, the fan comes on. Dark-mode FTW!

I think it's worth acknowledging when you get a good response from an MP. I'd written to mine (@sadikal-hassanmp.bsky.social) on a particular law, and I could tell he had actually read it. In stark contrast, a similar email on the same law to my previous MP received a canned response.

If you missed the WCAG 3 talk at CSUN, a link to the slides and our answers to follow up questions are available. Thanks to @alastairc.uk for putting this together. And as always thanks to the efforts of AG members for moving WCAG 3 forward. #accessibility #wcag

How long has Chrome on Android had a zoom feature? I've been complaining that it doesn't utilise the system text-size or zoom settings, but once you increase system text-size a zoom setting is added to the browser.

I seem to be getting a new type of spam email, which is a random selfie from some dude in the US. Not one person, multiple people at random emails. Quite odd, and not an improvement on the many blank emails I get.

Is there such a thing as the world's shortest river? www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEGz... (No, if you don't want to watch, due to definition problems.) A random video that came up whilst I was struggling with another difficult definition (github.com/w3c/wcag3/di...)

CSUN ATC wrap-up! alastairc.uk/2025/03/csun... Only about two weeks late, but there was so much to see and do at the biggest accessibility conference that it took a while to write up...

@chrishewitt.bsky.social on the daredevil spoilers, did no one notice the punisher tatoos on the police? From ep2 I think.

Captioned recording (w ASL) of my #CSUNATC US digital #accessibility legal update talk. Trying to find the balance between risks and hope in this terrible time in the United States: m.youtube.com/watch?v=fQyW.... #disability #a11y #CSUN #CSUNATC2025

Things to do at CSUN when you wake up at 5am due time zone differences... Summarise github discussions for the upcoming meeting.

@kermodemovie.bsky.social interesting Jason Isaacs aneqdote on a business podcast, in an interview of the producer of the White Lotus. overcast.fm/+AAXutRhH4BU... Maybe you could find out the other side of that story?

@reckless.bsky.social It's worth skimming The Fifth Risk by Michael Lewis. In 2018 it was "look at all the stuff that could go wrong" (e.g. shutting down the weather service, or nuclear waste facilities). Now it looks like the DOGE instruction manual. lighthousebookshop.com/book/9780141...

@microsoft.com I tried adding a feature request for Outlook, got sent through a login-loop and appear to be blocked now. Not a great look.

My home office was devoid of Christmas decoration, but I'm betrayed by my USB charger.

Nice little feature for people who struggle with (or are given migraines by) animation, a "reduce motion" button at the top: supermariomaker.nintendo.com It also respects your reduce-motion setting, automatically preventing movement.

For those of you following the progress on WCAG 3, the next update is here! This article includes the details and insights from the co-chairs of the group: whollyaccessible.org/2024/12/11/w... Remember: WCAG 3 drafts do not replace WCAG 2. More info: www.w3.org/WAI/standard...

It's great that EA opens up its patents to do with accessibility, just a shame that these can be patented at all. (I'm not convinced any interface aspect should be patentable.)
