I remember a half joke about where I grew up that you couldn’t walk more than a block without coming across either a bar or church.

Once spent the night at an airport due to flight delays, surreal being someplace that’s usually bustling when it’s absolutely empty.

I had to have multiple surgeries on my left arm, genuinely thought maybe just maybe that would help sort it, it did not. If I’m feeling particularly stubborn I make the argument it’s relative ( think of stage right and left, the fact you have to say your left, my left or my other left )
comment in response to post
Agreed, but likely biased because I fall under “all of the above”…for me, not having an innate sense of left vs right leads to some laughably awkward/humbling moments :)

Thank you for including with love and compassion!

I swear all the hate, hostility and absolute shitty awfulness is channeled somehow from that lovely country into those geese. That’s my theory anyhow, every time a Canadian says they’re sorry a goose gets its wings ( teasing with absolute love of Canada to be clear).

But did you end up with actual butter? Will absolutely account for, even write in, “allow for/endure dairy Vesuvius” for x amount of time/ until your bravery is rewarded with the most satisfying butter.

And Vance replied with 🍆🛋️🧨?

Any chance your tour extends to the East coast..trying to not be too particular by asking for my specific area but also eagerly anticipating reading your take on Canadian geese because my area KNOWS.

Wishing this shit show had never made it past the pilot.

And there’s the “erasures”…if you don’t fit their sad, sorry, pasty “masculine” mold you have no real place in history or the future they envision.

And that is one of those weird things that will also forever stick with me :)

It weirdly became ingrained almost immediately, now it’s weirdly reflexive. Picked it up studying to be a massage therapist.

When at a loss for words I’ve definitely strung at least five variations in a row..if fuckity counts.

Was just about to post this, not sure the folks here are the ones who need it but remembering ADE and K is huge.

And here I was thinking the artist was too kind. Mind you the opportunity to really make the orange pop with more blue and assuring him those colors are compliments seems irresistible to me.

Victor Hugo would’ve loved it!

Holy hell..amidst all the fuckery had forgotten that somehow.

Easier to accomplish when one lacks a spine

Congratulations! Adding this to my ever growing list of things to read :)

If the geese have at that statue, it would truly be both a terrifying yet wonderful thing!

Only just learned of your books and was super excited to find you here! Since there is no cure for curiosity or my book addiction will be diving in :)

Same! Like two hundred and forty dollars worth of pudding excited..

This is exactly why I have a “comfort pile” that is growing higher and multiple borrowed or on hold from the library :)

Don’t forget that knockoff Billy Bass..

Too young to remember the space race but old enough to remember the Cold War…morbidly curious all around about what future historians are going to have to say about current times.

I had joked about becoming a chocolate smuggler before things went to hell here. Will add these to carrots, idk what it is but Canadian carrots are distinctly more delicious.

Tullamore Dew is a delight, the 12 year is an extra special treat!

Explains so much . When Roe vs Wade was overturned I was as angry if not more so at the dems. Shrugging and saying “this is what the republicans were plotting and working towards for years” is weak as hell and the inability to learn is an inability to lead.

And now the thought that this could apply to library copies depending on how they were acquired has unlocked a whole new level of horror
comment in response to post
Not sure if this will work for you but I always check the library, if it is not available I place a request. Have been pleasantly surprised by quite a few updates that a copy was purchased/is now available. Not the same as directly buying/supporting an author but feels good when it works out :)

This triggered a nice bit of mental meandering into the word feck :)

I remember feeling troubled at how quickly “normalcy” followed. It never sat right and sadly I think what we are seeing now is a result of that.

Why can’t he just fall off that flat earth I keep hearing about?

I immediately thought this was gonna be a Douglas Adams reference ( or it is and it is so next level I’m a dolt for missing it)

Perhaps the issue is intellectual ( a word they don’t truly understand) combined with their genuine belief that they can “grab” anything?

Worked in a casino on grave shift and the things I’d seen and heard of, well, it would scare most straight except the poor souls in the grip of addiction. The absolute damage of having that broadcast everywhere and available anywhere…

You’ve had to say this a lot recently which says so much. Makes me think of the quote/warning about when fighting monsters taking care not to become one.

There is no way he came up with this tactic/precedence on his own, which is what scares and horrifies me more.

Would be great if Carter could haunt the hell out of them, even better if he could manifest as a poltergeist ( picturing hammers etc flying, plus when there is no conscience to attack that only leaves the physical body)

I was seething, wrote him a bit of a tirade (started with please, oddly when I’m properly angry I don’t cuss). Now waiting to see how long it takes the contact information I had to provide to be used for soliciting donations.

I don’t get how these albums/bands I love got sooo old (not me refusing to acknowledge I’ve aged too).
comment in response to post
Tried the email/online approach. Sure my words will be ignored while my contact details will be used to solicit/fundraise.

Your constituents would love to have actual leadership and representation.

It’s the warped mindset that everything and everyone is a commodity , that profit equates to good/functioning/worthwhile. It’s sick and destructive.

Thinking I could easily emasculate them, which is fun in its own right.
