I mostly agree. BUT going out & getting O'Neil when you have a good bit of hitters + ability to draft & dev seemed like a massive misappropriation of resources...
I guess I also assumed new ownership would have led to a MASSIVE spend incr. which i guess isnt Elias fault but i cant replace ownership

I feel like the Os sort of need a Dombrowski type? Someone who will/can get ownership to SPEND and make shorterm bold acquisitions....just seems the Os are close to losing a key window and that has me quite scared.

I guess my problem is why havent they figured out any semblance of pitching acquisition and/or development?
Can Elias just not spend money? Why end up with Sugano and Morton? There were many SPs in that tier that were relatively affordable. Sign 4!!!!!!

Sure-in retrospect, which is fine. But imo a power ranking is about how you think things will settle.
Have the spirit overperformed? Likely (but also maybe they have better scouting/game planning/shrug).
Will the spirit be better on 5/2 than they are now. i think that's almost assuredly thru.

Theyve beaten ORL twice now in ~2 months. Lost a very close game to KC (which 2-0, fine, but also it was close and I have no bones about KC being #1 or even Spirts being like 3rd...but this is absurd to be behind portland)

Croix Bethune trained today, but only did part of Tuesday's session as part of the load management program in place for her.
Giráldez said she's "very, very close" to being available, so we'll see. My own guess: less than 50/50 for Gotham, but above 50/50 for Angel City.
