Mikko has to decide if Carolina is where he’d want to spend the next 8 years and a month ago he thought he was wanting to stay in Colorado. I think he’s earned a little time.

That would be about $300k more than Draisaitl. Keep in mind that with all of this the Canes are still one of the teams in the best shape cap-wise to make this deal and everyone knows it.

He clarified some of his 32 thoughts, GM’s are readying like the Canes might try to flip him, but it’s unknown if they’d still keep him should he be unsigned by the TD. Rantanen not accepting also isn’t a bad sign. He literally just needs more time cause of the whirlwind.

Wouldn't be opposed to a blueline shakeup coming out of the period. They've been given a long enough leash this year, but it's apparent that overall they're lacking from prior iterations. And watching what Slavin was able to do for the US versus this year with Burns is striking

Laz is spot on. In fact, I think Miko gets at least two points tonight.

Ahhh. Reminds of the days I hated in Boston. A winter or two like that and you will hate snow with a passion…

I mean it’s logic-while they haven’t played much when he did play he played a ton, and he hasn’t skated with the team in two weeks. The idea is more “hey, maybe he takes a couple days and skates with them first and then Montreal is his first game back.” But…yeah that’s not Jaccob’s style

The USA bag is such a flex for him 🤣

Congrats! Hopefully years from now when the program is thriving she’ll be able to look down from the new arena and know she was a cornerstone. That is amazing.

Next up, thanks to @adamgold.bsky.social for having me on 99.9 to yammer about #GoHeels and #RaiseUp during his first segment. Stay to listen to Tripp Tracy with some great nuggets about someone who did in fact fly back to Raleigh last night www.youtube.com/live/lPEIRnA...

If you’re going to make your identity about shut down D, then you may need to really go all in with defensive D-men. Especially against those international lineups.

It was telling that Slavin and a 22 year old Brock Faber—Who’s damn good!—played so damn much when you had other celebrated D-men, and then when Cooper saw that Fox/Hanifin were stuck on the ice after icing he sent the McDavid line out.
