It is worth adding that Russia lost control of its borders in 2024 and has only a very limited defense against drone attacks.

I hadn't even thought of McArdle since the first Trump Administration and I thought she was still at Bloomberg. The old war horse is still going strong, generating "controversial takes" yet we all realized long ago that it's all just blather and how long will we really remember any of it?

Every time I go on X I am forced to watch someone beating the life out of someone on a subway/freeway/airport passage. Maybe just my feed, but it's fun when a columnist can remind me that Bluesky (36 mln and growing) is finished.

Walter Isaacson isn't motivated by money or power. He deeply cares about humanity.

It truly saddens me to see how many amateurs believe this iz Trump v Musk. It is Trump v PayPal and we know where Vance/Hamel's allegiance lies.
comment in response to post
Das kann ich kaum vorstellen, aber in LA ist natürlich alles möglich!
comment in response to post
You are ignoring the likelihood that Musk, Thiel and Sachs act in concert to pursue an agenda. In addition it is likely that the PayPal mafia pushed Vance into the vice presidency. Let the games begin!

Merz versteht die internationale Politik und die Rollen, die man auf der Bühne spielt, um Ergebnisse zu erzielen. Olaf? Der war ganz bestimmt in Hamburg glücklicher.

Why didn't the Russians just down the drones with the special Chinese lasers? Odd.

Strategic situation has clearly changed. In 2022 Russia controlled it's own borders, the Northern Black Sea and Syria.

And when SPECIFICALLY does Harvard ignore the law, as Shibley averred?
comment in response to post
But what university has done the opposite -- not cured something? Shibley's ravings are irresponsible.

UPenn played a major role in developing the mRNA COVID vaccine and has earned millions or billions from that.

Agree. Is there one SPECIFIC example of a disease that has not been cured due to some sort of malfeasance within the Ivy League? Or, can anyone name an actual dead person?

I like how a lot of these guys are not the sharpest mentally but certainly in great physical shape: RFK II, Hegseth, BongoBongo. RFK needs to organize a crew team so they can row on the Potomac.

Russia has not downed any civilian aircraft this year. Most recent hits were the Azerbaijan 8243 in 2024 and the MH17 in 2014.

BUT Twitter takeover was not a complete success because Bluesky has 36 mln users. DOGE is different since the government cannot be replaced.

It is understood that the right wing media promotes Trump and the mainstream corporate media fears him. Trump has been involved in lawsuits against some of these companies. The Biden people never sued any media.
