I see, AI is still not amazing with hands. That finger looks like a thumb.

Hmmm I have sex scenes in my books. Should I unfollow?

Agree completely. Iā€™m speaking with my pounds and hope many Europeans speak with their euros and other currencies.

Nobody said fighting fascism was going to be fun or convenient. These bastards have built up their near-monopolies for a very long time.

Iā€™m in the process of removing my books from KU, and will never go back. Also, as somebody who knows finance, putting oneā€™s eggs into one basket is risky as hell. Audio, translations, merchandise, patreon etc are good diversification strategies.

Open Office/Libre Office 4evar. I keep thinking I should try something more sophisticated but maybe Iā€™m just that old-skool.

Urgh. Iā€™ve heard of at least together who were writing inside atticus and lost a well-advanced manuscript with no way to fix it.

Same. I hear people rave about Atticus and Scrivener, and I use the German version of Papyrus for my translations. I fail to see the USP of papyrus English.

There are alternatives - and yes, the only income I currently have is from my books. Thereā€™s Kobo Plus, there are library loans via Libby, thereā€™s Patreon/Substack. Amazon as a company is evil - theyā€™ve removed their diversity policies, just one example, and actively support a fascist.

And it doesnā€™t hurt that Pastor is an excellent writer.

Addendum - by cheap trinkets I mean gaudy shit, not monetarily cheap. Just before somebody comes at me how they spent hundreds on ā€œcollectiblesā€ in the Mouse Kingdom.

Basically all the concentration camp romances written by US authors belong in there. But itā€™s more widely spread than that.
comment in response to post
Too often, authors use foreign cultures and histories and nations like theyā€™re doing an extended stroll through fucking Disneyland, grabbing some cheap trinkets left and right without even checking facts or language use. Not just talking about US authors here.

Title has a typo - do you use other German words and did a native German check them?

Hah, Amazonā€™s not great promotion interface strikes again. Iā€™ve just reduced it to 0.99 pounds but thatā€™ll only take effect from the 4 February (running to 7 February). Thanks for letting me know!

Can I help?

I find ā€œobstacleā€ useful. As a shortcut, I ask myself ā€œhow can I ruin my characterā€™s dayā€? Can feel more organic.

Uhm, basically the whole genre of romance would like a word. (I mean itā€™s so niche niche and there isnā€™t much money in it ā€¦)

Yeah, weā€™ll deal with it. May I suggest certain areas of Berlin? Nobody will find enough tissue for a forensic analysis.

My granddad fought on the side of the damn Nazis and I agree with you.

As a historian and as a German, Iā€™m laughing so hard at your willful Ignorance. ā€œTruth to powerā€? Funniest bio on social media.
