I don't really like this approach any more than I like the idea of buying curriculum from some source that thinks 14yos have the same graphics sensibilities they did at age 5 (which holy shit is like 75% of them). So if I switch to only one page a week at some point, this is why: I like diversity.

Essentially what things are boiling down to is that I can continue on this schedule for a good year if it's the only involved art I do. No crochet, no writing new material, no recipe development or sewing. And for godsake no Minecraft. (Dude's got us all in Don't Starve rn anyway.)

And now I want to make an edible version

Trivia:
1. The lettering is inspired by an alphabet I made up in high school. I don't actually remember much of it, and my archives are spotty, so I'm filling in randomly as I go.
2. The coin is as close as I can get to the one I literally dreamed early in the creation of this story universe.

Apparently there is a 10% chance (!) of a retinal tear or detachment when this is going on. I was surprised that it was so high until I remembered how much more common age-related blindness and low vision used to be. Huzzah for lasers, and here's hoping I don't need them.

ER is for if you're losing vision or brightness in a large section of your field of view, or getting a LOT of new black or brown/red floaters. They really can't do anything useful if they don't need to urgently admit you and bring in the ophthalmologist on call.

I've only kept it (most actual content removed) so that nobody takes my handle. Seriously thinking that's now less of a problem than the hacking potential. Best practices only go so far.

Yup, going to be going with some other known quantity for sensory acceptability. But then, we've been using the place only as Tavern of Last Resort since we stopped having to haul out to Murrieta all the time. And I've been using gift cards whenever I can.

Also, unlike the stuff I used to have posted on a previous site, this has never been public. So whatever you're seeing as happening in real time, remember that I'm seeing it as echoes and foreknowledge. Which is at least as weird.

Ok so I see from the YouTubes this morning that there are multiple vacant buildings on fire in DTLA, one of which I passed right by on a bus on Saturday
And I need to remind everyone that the text I'm posting was last seriously revised in 2017 at the latest, probably years before that

Ok now she looks like Isabela from Encanto, I'll take it
And good grief keyboard, quit trying to make me write in Spanish now

(To be clear, the character does not actually look like my sister, that's just who came out of my pencil. Now I have to fix it which is seriously annoying.)

I'm also kind of glad I've had the intro to play with layout and style before getting into dialogue and people. Which are going to happen, and I'm going to have to have rules about them like I do with what I've done so far. Probably "don't waste time, if it looks like them, that's good enough."

Batching helps, but there's a catch: I haven't yet got my sense of layout refined enough to always know what text will fit well over what image, so sometimes I end up with things not meshing to plan. So it's clear the scanner, do the process, put the words, and see if I need ANOTHER pic. Repeat.

Interestingly, the hardest parts of this project atm are finding things I can draw that will look OK behind text, and making the text readable. Not to be confused with the parts I'm putting off the hardest, which are scanning and cropping.

"Usually we don't want *this* power/situation to come into effect but under the circumstances it'd be better than what we've got. Also watch the division of authority *here* and what specifically it's referring to. We'll be hearing about this, hopefully from the left getting ahead of the story."

But I don't know where the line is yet. It's daunting, trying to figure out that line in the face of complete and unrelenting malice. Much easier to imagine that someone cares. I just haven't found enough of them to feel like there's a chance for a real support circle. For real rest. And I need to.

Hopefully I can connect with people who don't find me to be too much and too little all at once. Hopefully it's a good influence on the heartburn, because an esophagus is a lot more mission critical than a boob. Hopefully we won't be reduced to shamefully helping only ourselves.

Me personally, I know exactly how my body weaponizes itself when I'm in fear 24/7, and I don't want to do it again if I can help it. But since I also believe in preparedness and want to participate when I can, I have to find some kind of balance. Preferably one that doesn't mean I lose MORE friends.

It isn't even respecting your drawn text box shape/size rn, nor permitting standard resizing AFAICT. So I got this one-line-high box about 15x the width of my image and couldn't do anything with it. There's apparently a way to fix this but search engines are shit now for finding anything so...

I'm trying to put large blocks of text over grayscale images (will be moving into color as the project advances). It does not currently support wordwrap except as you can make it do with SVG commands, which I do not know. So I'm using, of all things, Preview, because it's good at annotating.

Human moms of humans tend to be really bad. Like, I AM a human birthing mom of a human and I get messaging all the time that I'm not a REAL mom, my experience isn't enough to count, because it doesn't look enough like theirs. I thought imagination was supposed to be a good parental trait.

And no one should feel overly guilty about only lately coming to realizations. You get to be part of a mass exodus! Bigger changes are easier to see. It's as important to prove the worth of that to each other as to corporate interests.

Also missing is the need for more-ethical businesses to structure operations so as to resist billionaire takeover. Putting our money where our better interests are doesn't go far if it gets handed over to the chuds. Which looks automatic but doesn't have to be.

FR tho the G&G oatmeal cookie bars are like a food group unto themselves for the dude. I imagine we could go back to Zbars but I don't think those have vanilla chips in (win for me, not for him). Might overall be a better option than tying myself down to weekly prep like I did with the waffles.
