For the raptor fans, there was a region in the central valley in California where a little over a week ago over *250* Swainson's hawk were spotted over a single field. I stopped by Wednesday morning. About 50 over a several mile distance. Hope they're back yearly! very cool! #birds

My great grandmother was a Belgian immigrant. She worked in a textile factory in Ghent when she was 8. She set up her enclosed back porch in Illinois for Great Depression travelers to eat and rest. She never learned to read. I am very proud of her.
