No it's not. I wish it were true, but I don't believe that for a second with this gang.

Pointing out their lies doesn't help. We know he lies. We know this is illegal. We need leadership. You're an opposition party, act like it. Lead rallies. Slow congress to a crawl. Otherwise it seems like we're merely issuing empty "statements" that no one takes seriously

What are you going to do following this statement? I fear I know the answer, and I hope you prove me wrong.

Is there a list somewhere of reps who have signed on to the resolution? I live in @whipkclark.bsky.social's district and want to know if she has. I will be calling her if not.

Very convincing counterargument. Show proof or you're just virtue signaling.

Cool, where is it and how much?

Neither do I. By the way, he was struck by a bullet. And he did win, as much as we hate to admit it. Many of us are still in the "denial" phase, apparently. We're never going to come back and win if we remain there.

There is nothing to indicate votes got flipped. It's a long way to go from "this company's ups's were in the data center!" to voter fraud. Getting distracted by BS like this instead of examining why the democrats lost is a guarantee of losing again.

The headline is misleading and the evidence in the article is extremely flimsy at best. They need a lot more than this before claiming "She won!" And I say this as someone who hates Trump and MAGA. Truth matters and evidence matters, and this isn't enough evidence to provide anything.

In all seriousness, this was a fascinating article, and I appreciate your contributions to the Atlantic.

Bluesky is a for-profit. It's a public-benefit corporation meant to provide a public good, but all of you saying it's not for-profit are wrong. In answer to your question, ads, a subscription feature to remove ads and provide additional features, and a post.news like feature to buy single articles.

It a for-profit company. It's a public benefit company, but it's still for-profit

To be fair, I violated my own principle of not engaging in pointless virtue signaling on my 5th social media account.

They're posts, not skeets.

This is so sad that the future of our country and society hinges on two fragile, immature men-children whining in a virtual playground.

Bravo on your introduction of chaos into their grift.

It's possible to fight a fascist in the White House while also acknowledging how much the Democrats fucked up. In fact, it's necessary if we're going to beat them next time.
comment in response to post
This IS about taking down these fascists. Do you honestly think the Democratic Party is capable of that without a change in tactics and leadership after the way they failed us?
comment in response to post
It's not a distraction. The party failed in the face of the greatest threat of our lifetime. We need to understand where they failed and why, and hold them accountable. Sticking your head in the sand and childish name-calling means they'll never learn and continue to lose.
comment in response to post
No need to be snarky. If you disagree, feel free to say why and we can communicate like human beings.

I usually like Borowitz, but this is a bad take. The Dems need to confront every reason they lost. Yes, part of it was racism and misogyny. But this also happened, whether we like it or not. Trump is an existential threat and the Dems ignored what was going on with Biden to their peril. Both true.
comment in response to post
Terrible response. Trump is back in power partly BECAUSE the Dems did this. If we ignore the fact that their leadership failed us, then we're going to continue losing elections. The story needs to be told, precisely because it's uncomfortable and we need to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Protesting, screaming. The truth is that until the midterms, we're basically stuck thanks to the Republicans in the majority who are enabling this, not to mention the plurality who voted for him. I wish I could say otherwise.

Judge Session: I see no evidence of risk or danger of any kind. The court orders ICE to release Rümeysa Öztürk from custody IMMEDIATELY. She is free to return to her home in Massachusetts. Also free to travel within Mass and VT. I'm not going to restrict her travel, because I see no danger of flight

They're using it as an excuse. They don't actually give a shit about jews or antisemitism. If it served their needs, they'd set up camps themselves.
comment in response to post
Using "zionism" as a slur when calling out Stephen Miller is antisemitic. Criticizing the Israeli government is fine and I encourage that. That's not what you were doing there.
comment in response to post
That statement certainly paints a picture of what you are.
comment in response to post
Criticizing what Israel is doing is legit. Using the word "zionist" as a slur and implying Israel should be destroyed is not. It's that simple. I wish you well.
comment in response to post
By your logic, Israel should exist because it was a kingdom there before the Palestinians. I'm sure wherever you live, there's some bloody history too. You want to criticize what they're doing in Gaza and the west bank, I agree. But the rest of your claim is selective and not in good faith.
comment in response to post
You going to post the same meme about the Greeks and Turks that were forced from their homes around the same time? Or the Indians and Pakistanis? If not, why?
comment in response to post
Simplistic and really inaccurate. Israel's got an extreme right wing government that I agree has fascist tendencies, much like ours. But zionism means supporting the right of Israel to exist. Plenty of liberals support that too. Don't conflate the two.
comment in response to post
Also, your statement that they're "the same" is disgusting and offensive. Shame on you
comment in response to post
Still doesn't answer the question. What does zionism have to do with this?

Don't kid yourselves. Joe would have lost, probably worse than she did.

Some of you seriously need to calm down. Domains are their own entity and were never designed to authenticate humans. The casual user needs this. If we want bluesky to thrive and overtake X's failed model, it's absolutely essential. I'm all for it.
comment in response to post
This is a good thing, everyone. And if bluesky is going to reach critical mass, it's absolutely necessary.

it has never been more dangerous to be jewish in this country and it has nothing to do with college students protesting genocide and everything to do with nazis controlling the white house.

I am not a fan of for-profit healthcare, but anointing him as a hero is not only inappropriate, it undermines the movement. You're not going to convince people on the fence and change the system by deifying a guy who murdered someone in cold blood.
