from “Parable of the Talents” by Octavia Butler

No LGB without the T.

Since the people who hate DEI don’t seem to know what the actual words are, let’s just make calling it IDEA a more common practice and they won’t know the difference (the a is for Access)

Have you seen the T-Mobile Priority ad? Is it not dystopian? Yes, I'm thrilled that actual money is being put into services for the people "in extreme circumstances." But why do we need a corporation funding civil services with the necessary infrastructure? Isn't that someone else's job?

Has anyone else been noticing a larger police & security presence on your #university & #college campuses?

Not an overstatement to say Wikipedia is the greatest achievement in information ever. It's also the backbone of the internet. Google doesn't work without it, for instance. It's kind of the last, best thing really working for humans on the shared knowledge front. Can't let him mess with this.

What are some of your favorite elements of #cozyfiction & #cozy media? • warm, homey spaces • sweet bread & rich tea • friendly neighbors & good friends • tedious work that results in actual progress or growth What else?

OK miss me with the bullshit that writers are ONLY on social media to sell books. We're also humans who have pets and gardens and baked goods and pancakes that improbably come out of the pan looking like goats. Where else are we supposed to talk about those things? Just stand outside and yell??

Godspeed and best of luck to all of us about to spend the next few days surrounded solely by conservative & small-minded family. We'll get through this together. 💜

For hundreds (thousands) of years, reading and writing was considered too radical and complex for the masses. Slaves were prohibited from both. Books are regularly banned and burned. Why? Because of their power to inform, educate, change minds, galvanise, organise, overthrow. Let’s go!

My exciting bit is the fact that I have at least one WIP for every fiction genre you can think of. To agents, I am your man if you need any, any kind of story. Especially if it needs to be serialized and easily merchandizable. Bonus: I really don't care about recognition, I just wanna make art!

Fred Rodgers on the importance of making something even if other people don't think it's good had me crying this morning. Passing it along for anyone else that might need it.

I'm glad to be here but I am not calling these skeets. Let's just stick with posts. Simple & classy. #hibluesky
