Glad you found it relevant! Wouldn't mind hearing more about the feelings you're dealing with

And! I also uploaded the two pieces I made for the game to Soundcloud: soundcloud.com/alex-higgins...

I used Lovely Composer for the first time to make the music and am really happy with how it turned out. This was my first time making anything chiptune-ish, and I am hooked! 1oogames.itch.io/lovely-compo...

Reaching people is hard, but FWIW, when you do post something that is helping to change someone's mind, it's usually gonna sit in the back of their mind for a bit before their opinion changes. So there's also that!

I've sometimes theorized that some 2010s and 2020s of indie game hits have been a gold rush of who can transform goodwill/nostalgia towards freeware/abandonware into a Steam-friendly game the fastest. E.g. harvest moon -> Stardew, super Metroid -> hollow knight, flash platformers -> super meat boy

Probably Glorious Trainwrecks! It has been a few years since I last submitted something, though

There's a *lot* more I could say but this is already a long thread. So I'll just end with, here's a petition: www.change.org/p/bluesky-mu... If you're cis and can tank Having Your Name On A List, it would be great if this petition just kept growing even as Bluesky tries to make all this go away.

Oh yeah, I've reuploaded it here: alexandrah.neocities.org/games/howToFly A lot of people were upset about it for "not being a real game" :p

I've been using Game Maker since 2005 and had spent a lot of time playing downloading stuff from Game Maker Games. I only ever uploaded one game to GMG before it bit the dust; it was not well received haha

Despite not owning the game, when I was 8 or 9, I checked out the strategy guide for Digimon World 2 from my library over and over and over again and just read it cover to cover

For that reason, I'm trying to keep the story and exploration text-based, but not having the draw any of the island environs does give me a lot of freedom to write up a lot of surreal and weird places to play card games.

It's a card game battle royale on an island, like the first season of a certain card game anime, but with emergent narrative, kind of like Pyre, but not as deep, since I'm really trying to be super casual with this project after going all-out for Nocturne.
