We also now need @unison.org.uk to bring Disability in line with Race by having a protocol to support staff bringing ET claims - long overdue @disrightsuk.bsky.social @laylamccay.bsky.social @laylamoran.bsky.social @disa

On #WindrushDay Could @rcn.org.uk also do more on ending widening BlackPayGap in NHS ? Recognise not unique to health & social care - but action on #Agenda4Change needed now: @teamlabouruk.bsky.social @libdems.org.uk #Windrush @laylamccay.bsky.social @laylamoran.bsky.social #RaceEqualityBill

I’m of the generation where teachers chucked chalk at your head & I got to stand on a chair in maths to say “I am stupid”. I’m not going backwards- Diversity is here: Equity is needed and Inclusion & tenacity mean my kid is an NHS doctor! Another on graduate journey- all paying tax & happy!

Resonates & racism is real. But mum’s care as an ex-nurse blighted by Coastal health inequalities & failure despite loads of opportunities in Devon to diagnose lung cancer. EastSurreyHospital did in minutes what Torbay treated as Dementia! Surrey gave her dignity & palliative care in final months.

Let’s also hope government Race Equality Bill will deal with widening pay gap rooted in racism that has been harming Black British nurses for years & drives inequality @laylamoran.bsky.social @nhsconfed.org @rogerkline.bsky.social @rogerkline.bsky.social @dockendenltd.bsky.social

If ‘human brain’, using evidence, family stories of WW1 & speaking to survivors of postwar German state sponsored sterilisation of Black children counts as a machine? Then yes.

Your President is not the only one with memory issues: Never forget AfricanAmercans who fought in WW1 - GreatWar - not a single DEI hire & tragically children they left behind would later suffer the consequences including forced sterilisation under Nazis Eugenics policy of post war Germany!

That’s sad: particularly when taking an evidence based approach. My 1st hand experience is me & my mum separately ended up with an adverse reaction to Pandemrix (Finnish genome thing & fortunately rare)- transparent sharing of evidence & good communication on risk is what changes hearts & mind.

Perhaps ratings don’t quite capture how this generation view-collectively or other means. But I’m enjoying the journey-my Kid though is a little bored of me talking about time Jon Pertwee came to our 1977 StreetParty!

Are they really shunning? As a former Board member of NHS RoyalSurreyFT - was an expectation we would be on wards, events & stay patient facing. Jabbed at Board Meetings- COVID19 & Flu - leading by example, investing in staff, communication & access is key to take up.

Who are your watching DrWho with? As my kid tells me for those who need the past, have difficulty living in present demographic reality and probably fear the future- Watch old Quatermass or @bbciplayer.bsky.social all the way back to Hartnell & Troughton

Here you are @rogerkline.bsky.social - of course these few retrospective paragraphs don’t do justice to the description we were given contemporaneously, or our concerns as to where the Equality Impact Analysis was or whether this undermined basic principles on equity & employmee engagement?

No because having paid £1.1m Report never shared with Staff, Equality Networks or @unison.org.uk - I requested sight myself. Only Trace? the qualification of HEE’s final accounts because of spend without prior approval- & as it underpinned merger, assume it helped drive resulting inequalities.

Sadly looks straight out of the UK #HomeOffice Playbook - with British subjects with right to be here being wrongly deported and/or left destitute in countries they had no link to! #Windrush #HostileImmigration @leigh-day.bsky.social @goodlawproject.org @goodlawproject.bsky.social

What perfect symmetry -HEE/NHSE busying themselves on variously claiming nothing to see in £1.1m tax payer funded report from KPMG on NHSE duplication & merger (despite DHSC/Cabinet refusing retrospective approval for commissioning report) apparently irrelevant to my ET??? @unison.org.uk saying?

Interesting in light of recent cases involving #NHS leadership Michelle Cox. Together with ET tactics like NHS England-Seeking a public Preliminary Hearing to cross -examine me on whether I’m Disabled? When they have a copy of my Disability BlueBadge & Access2Work? Adding time & cost!
