Kyoto has been very green lately

I finished Unicorn Overlord yesterday, and while I generally had a great time, I wish the game better handled its unit and character management aspect. Due to it feeling overly complex and time consuming I ended up playing without spending time on it… but still managed to beat the game pretty easily

I recently got Sonic Origins on Switch to see if I’d enjoy the classic 2D games a bit more now (I’ve always had mixed feelings about them as a kid). Instead, it only confirmed they’re just not for me, which is a bit frustrating seeing how widely loved and celebrated they generally are.

I'm torn with the release. Sales aren't too good, but the reviews are excellent. The sale-to-review ratio is also incredible. I'm hoping for more eyes for Without a Dawn: store.steampowered.com/app/3145620/... Thank you for your support! 💚💛 #visualnovel #gamedev #indiedev #indiegame #steam

I've just realized that aside from an N64 DD and a Panasonic Q GameCube which I'll probably never be able to buy because prices are so high now, my retro game collection feels pretty much... complete?

Today on Digital Foundry, settle down for an 86-minute interview with id Software's Billy Khan, going into extreme depth on Doom: The Dark Ages and the phenomenal new id Tech 8 engine: youtu.be/DZfhbMc9w0Q

"The Art of Clair Obscur" est paru sur ArtStation, ça regorge de concept arts, des environnements des jeux, de la modélisation des personnages et des ennemis... Evidemment ça regorge de spoilers, donc cliquez avec prudence ! www.artstation.com/channels/The...

I stopped counting the years I’d been waiting for this… Welcome back, Power Stone 1 & 2!

Oh Capcom I assure you it does in fact impact gameplay

Why yes, that is Yoshitaka Amano's art on the CE of GEX Trilogy. It is indeed the least Final Fantasy'ish game art he's probably ever done, and that's why it's so weird and cool (imo), and unexpected. #GEXTrilogy limitedrungames.com/products/gex...

We’re eating good next week 🦦

The OG Crysis for PC still looks damn fine

I knew I’d love the game, but Unicorn Overlord is absolutely brilliant. It might be a bit too easy for my taste (or maybe I'm over-optimizing my units), but it’s still incredibly satisfying and addictive.

Here are higher-res scans of the first super Famicom announcement from Nov. 21, 1988, a full *two years* before the SFC finally hit store shelves in Japan. (I believe it's still necessary to bake an explanation into the scan itself, so I've done that.)

I miss Time Crisis

A very special anniversary for a very important game. This one hits especially hard for me, as it was one of the first games I worked on during my internship at Bandai Namco in France in 2015…Time flies!

The more I think about it, the more I realize how much I love everything about this game. I’m so grateful to every single person involved in making it happen the way it did.

Video games as a medium have long enough history now that it should be fair to praise "genre-transcending" games as much as "genre-defining" ones. These games will be (and are already) shaping the future of gaming in many (if not more) ways.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 might have just become my favorite video game. What a masterpiece.

I was very excited for this to arrive: the new Super Mario World vinyl record release, which also includes the full OSTs for Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, and 3!
