Pre-order are available for the series!

:D the cool kids!! Although Timon's last name is public already, so I don't know why I'm hesitant to say it without permission. Brains are weird sometimes.

Hah, yeah! I guess not everyone has the pleasure of knowing the illustrious Timon personally

With Standard Notes, I definitely appreciate their FOSS status & clarity on the exact security features and the inaccessibility of data, plus how easy it is to export your data & leave the platform, which to me makes the question of leadership less urgent.

Oooo, tbh I should've looked into that before now, but that makes sense! I've seen some concern over the Proton CEO (Andy Yen) praising this administration's handling of "big tech abuses". AFAICT, that's incredibly ignorant but doesn't seem to affect the security features (more info welcome!).

Charming! XD Blocking now, as you're either a bot or a deeply unpleasant and uninformed human. Bye~

Other cool features: • Account switching (work/personal, etc.) • Prevent individual notes from displaying a preview in the list • Note stats: created/modified, ID, size • You can archive notes to hide them from the list, which doesn't affect them otherwise. • Excalidraw plugin • Password generator

Two basic gripes: I don't like subscriptions, but at least you can get the core app with full security for free. Also, the spreadsheet plugin is rough/buggy and I think many will want to track health data securely. (Although you could write your own... standardnotes.com/help/plugins... )

I subscribed last week for the usability & aesthetics upgrades, after choosing it for the security (and no AI). It's really nice so far! You can also self-host: standardnotes.com/help/47/can-... And publish selected pages (kinda like Notion) – want to try this: standardnotes.com/help/60/crea...

Thanks for asking! I meant to check out the free tier and compare, but got excited about the security features & quickly subscribed for the "nice to have" upgrades. TXT & RTF are available free, tho. Curious about your Logseq motivation? I like the ease of SN's secure sync, but looked at that too.

For me, it seems like the best option, but expert opinions pls? Privacy page here: standardnotes.com/privacy Details on the encryption here (this addresses being US-based): standardnotes.com/help/39/what... View their 4 security audits: standardnotes.com/help/2/has-s... No iOS tracking, either.

I've enjoyed Obsidian for few years (similar wiki/markdown structure and ease of backups), but the "vault" structure is a bit opaque and I don't believe you can PW-lock it. I also prefer SN's tags-as-folders, wiki-esque structure. Import from Evernote & others: standardnotes.com/help/10/how-...

Back up all notes, photos, &c. – encrypted or as a decrypted ZIP. Huge for me: I love having a personal wiki / knowledge database but have lost two apps already (RIP Journler). standardnotes.com/help/14/how-... And here's how they protect against the app vanishing: standardnotes.com/help/4/what-...

Sorry to disrupt your pin – just updated this to mention iOS's native PW lock feature as well! bsky.app/profile/alex...

The iOS Bean Loader isn't available anymore, but I think I'm gonna see if I can crowdsource the CLI tool this weekend ^_^ Handy BLE still works for making GUIs on the fly, though!

Alas! I managed to save the HW files, and am working to get my programming setup online again w/o the Bean Loader app. It's honestly been my dream to get this thing made again; being able to reprogram a wearable robot on-the-fly was such an incredible feature! www.hackster.io/glowascii/an...

Working on a "Beanie Bots" #CompanionBot concept :) As simple as possible w/ an old LightBlue Bean & @alpenglow.bsky.social Coin Cell Power adapter. Also resurrecting the LBBean ecosystem as much as possible! It'll go on @hacksterio.bsky.social, but for now, build thread: bsky.app/profile/alex...

All desoldered! Turns out, I was using it to tether two ground wires to the same pin. Clearly the cleverest possible option 😆 (FWIW, it wasn't actually screwn into the board, just attached as a handle... but still, lol)

...Oh lol, didn't notice this was from 3 weeks ago 😅 I blame low sleep. Still excited about it!

Exciting!! I'd love to get some grounding in small models and tools I could use on a souped-up Raspberry Pi. I'm no software genius, so it's been slow going – but I love building electronics projects (with full tutorials) that make ethical methods more approachable!

Oh HELL yeah!!! I've seen one or two before, but this is a whole new level!! 🤘🤘

#USPol Don't fall for false justifications. Others' rights uplift us all! 💙 - Immigrants *boost* our economy (see above) - DEI policies make companies *more* profitable: www.forbes.com/sites/annapo... - Trans rights make cis women *safer*: gender policing targets all non-conforming people.
