I’m going to keep it real because I have no choice: many grocery stores dedicate far too much space in the produce section to apple varieties.

To me, a Nazi salute means, "I want to murder your family." There can be no irony about it: It puts deep anger and hatred in my heart to see it done and I will never forgive anyone who justifies or minimizes it.

About 90% of these “problems” that I see in The Ethicist could be answered with the same one sentence: “It’s none of your business.”

My grandfather’s lifelong struggle was with loss, and lifting his wife and 5 kids out of poverty. My father’s was with self doubt, the crushing weight of his father’s expectations, and knowing he could never measure up. Mine is to avoid spilling my morning coffee while lounging on the couch.

I’m interested in when and how I fall for misinformation on the internet as a relatively sophisticated consumer, so for myself more than anyone, figured I’d talk out loud through my thought process on this one. It started with my assuming the information was true, and my gut reaction that….

This is not what he did and cmon, he is doing enough bad stuff, we don’t need to create and amplify misinformation about his actions to effectively criticize him. This kind of thing drives me bonkers.

Part of what makes society work is the tacit agreement that the law means something. As soon as a significant enough chunk no longer believes that it does things start to fall apart in big ways. We are animals that wear pants and freed from restrictions we go bad quickly.

This place is cursed.

Billionaire work so hard. 😔

On very cold, clear days, I like listening to aphex twin. Icymi a few years ago he dumped a bunch of unreleased tracks on his SoundCloud that are fantastic, including a rendition of Avril 14th with the notes played backwards and a moving tribute to his late father. on.soundcloud.com/A7MrZiKCdw4N...

Whether Trump is able to get away with blaming a financial collapse on Biden will be the true and final test of whether he is really able to break any rule in politics.

Follow @beijingpalmer.bsky.social for super interesting and obscure trivia about early unpublished editions of your favorite fantasy works. Seriously this is like the third time I’ve gotten this from him.

If you’re going to avoid saying Trump lies because you can’t prove his state of mind, you should also avoid saying he’s just trolling when you can’t prove that state of mind.

Or trying to get another job so that they can make next month’s rent or feed kids and don’t want their names plastered on social media. These were not the heads of divisions laid off. They were younger, lower pay employees who had just gotten a big break and are now scrambling to figure sh*t out.

I don’t think they care. They are itching for more court orders to defy. The only thing that can stop these guys for at least the next two years, maybe more, is Republicans in Congress.
