Let’s be honest there are only like 2 good variants if you aren’t baking with them.

God she’s annoying. “If only you hadn’t insisted on Kamala and forced the other side to do a fascism!”

Yeah, I think that’s all true and also that musk is seriously deteriorating in his judgment before our eyes. I also think there are many other people with a similar skill set to Musk (not a ton, but many) and like most things in life, a few lucky breaks is what makes you the billionaire.

I’m not saying most people are anti fed by default but, kind of riffing off the OP, most people aren’t going to feel super bad for us. There are ways in which we are legit coddled (many of us), the quality of life is good, etc. I think it’s unfortunately fertile “whipping boy” territory for bullies.

I love my little bubble here where everyone is so supportive (even shockingly so imo) of fed civil service but people are really fooling themselves if they think that’s the majority sentiment in this country. If anything I was shocked Sean O’Brien wasn’t harsher about us the other day.

Yeah I’m sick of that one too.

Honestly what is there to say to your sister whose therapist is a spiritual medium? “That’s dumb. You’re dumb for doing that.” Only good response but not a great way to improve familial relations.

Omg it’s like a little chaos demon.

Yeah, it’s supremely awful. It’s part and parcel with this administration bullying public figures into submission and I really hope that federal judges have more of a backbone than Congressional Republicans.

It makes him a piece of sh*t because he’s inviting harassment of the judge and their family but it was not illegal because everything he posted is publicly available, unless the daughter’s LinkedIn profile was not public and Loomer accessed it somehow.

And I should say I was not trying to single you out for anything, part of the dynamic here is I get angry with myself when I fall for stuff that’s inaccurate because it happens to me all the time.

Yeah, unfortunately MSN has fallen for this too. Musk is arguably targeting her for harassment with these posts, and that’s very bad, but they aren’t revealing any private information about her. It’s all publicly available and there are no “tax forms” being shared.

So anyway, this strikes me this is a really difficult and dangerous thing about social media. Worse in this specific case is these sh*t birds might actually have a point about the conflict of interest, but I don’t want to go there because they are highlighting the judge’s daughter in bad faith. Fin.

It took me way longer to type out this psychotic thread than it did to do the investigation I’m describing. Maybe 2 minutes to investigate? 2 minutes to avoid being fooled by a lie about something *very bad* that Musk supposedly did, and to avoid amplifying it. And tbc I’ve been fooled before!…

The header of the document itself makes clear it’s an OGE (ethics) form. A quick search reveals the form is an ethics form required to be filed **publicly** by senior govt officers (of which she is one). So, no sensitive private info here, and NOT a “tax form.” …

she is private on LinkedIn and Loomer connected with her to view her profile, it’s all public info provided by the daughter herself), PLUS a different-looking document that is presumably the alleged “tax form.” This didn’t look like a tax form on its face to me, so I inspected it more closely, and..

I should add at this juncture that the rest of this thread assumes Loomer identified the correct person as the judge’s daughter (big assumption, but I’ll make it here since it’s not really germane to my point). Immediately I noticed that they are posting her LinkedIn profile (so unless…

it was a screenshot without the source post, I google searched for about 30 seconds and found what appears to be the original musk post in question. Here it is:

And I noticed the guy included a screenshot, and not a quote post, of the allegation, and it didn’t even include the actual Musk post being referenced. This alone should have warranted further investigation before re-posting it as a fact. (I’m sure I’ve been guilty of this in the past). Because….

the accusation: that Musk used his unique position of authority to steal private information about a federal judge’s daughter to then publicly dox and target her for harassment. That’s so bad. Good to triage these things when possible. My assessment led me to inspect the original post more closely…

this was really outrageous. That in turn prompted some assessment on my part. How outrageous was it? Not more than hiring groypers to dismantle govt agencies, but more outrageous imo than waving a chainsaw around at CPAC or calling the head of ISS the r word. This assessment requires understanding…

It was an underplayed story even within the legal community. Everyone should understand that he was one of the biggest “feeders” to the Supreme Court, and then read the allegations about him. Good window into some of the problems in our legal culture, particularly our reluctance to criticize judges.

The stories I heard about this man first hand from people who clerked for him are absolutely insane. More insane imo than some of the stuff that became public and led to him resigning.
