they’re arresting people for performing abortions, they’re deporting people for liking pro-palestine posts on social media, they’re sending immigrants to forced labor camps in south america, we are living under fascism right now

Me: tells the host of a comedy show, “please use he to refer to me.” Him: immediately gets on stage and uses they.

“we’re all in this together” rly? what rights have you lost? oh roe v wade? u know you live in a state where abortion is protected right? we just got locked into a country without access to documents necessary to leave & they intend to criminalise our existence and v code us in prisons.

holy shit

FLORENCE LI TIM-OI DAY TODAY 🕯️

New rule: if you can't verify some news about trans stuff with at least two verifiable sources, you don't post it. Seeing a lot of people worried about shit they don't need to be yet

Someone asked if I had found Jesus. I can't figure out how this guy lost him, in America of all places, where there are so many hungry, thirsty, naked, and homeless people around for Christ to be.

if you’re cis, don’t offer trans people meaningless platitudes. instead: - pay for someone’s HRT - help a trans person find employment and housing - donate to local trans organizations - contact your reps and demand non-compliance with policies targeting trans people - *listen* to us

The more things are fucked, the more Anglo-Catholic I get. When life is going well, give me that happy flappy Jesus music. But when everything goes to shit, you’ll catch me praying in front of a Mary statue in the snowy darkness.

In light of the present shitshow, I’ve taken up a practice of praying to my favorite saints (canonized or not) for strength against evil.

It is not surprising to me that Trumpism has gained so much traction within evangelicalism because they have created a new Christianity that doesn’t actually require anyone to BE Christian. Their gospel does not call for repentance - it merely lightly suggests it while offering Jesus as a loophole.

If you think this is a time to let abusers & other authoritarians back in for the sake of a bigger tent you just invited the threat inside

it's important to remember, trump's admin used this exact same tactic back in 2017. try to overwhelm the public with hundreds of terrible executive order, make people doom-spiral so they don't resist. but they couldn't stop police stations burning in 2020. don't despair, fight back.

alright you wanna know how to support trans people? hire them. It's REALLY hard already for visibly trans people to get jobs, even before this shit. Support places that have trans people working front of house, and make sure owners know that's part of why you're there.

TLDR: There is nothing enforceable for the immediate future. It will take months or years to implement this via rulemaking or bureaucratic changes which are then subject to legal challenge. While it's worrying, there's no immediate change yet for most trans people. Do not comply in advance.

Each one of you has to be God’s microphone. Each one of you has to be a messenger, a prophet. The church will always exist as long as there is someone who has been baptized…Where is your baptism? Oscar Romero ⚓️

Episcopal priests and lay leaders - are you thinking about what you will do when ICE tries to enter your churches or when your undocumented parishioners reach out to you for help?

I understand all the praise of Bishop Budde’s sermon, but I still don’t think it should have ever happened in the first place. It sets up TEC as his Orangeness’ Loyal Opposition, but God doesn’t call us to loyally oppose evil but to be disloyal to it.

So now we are all legally female
