Literally any law is inevitably going to produce some absurd-seeming outcomes like this, because we can't decide every single legal case based on what the British public seems to like the vibes of. We need rules, and as long as there are rules sometimes they will be gamed.

In 2025 the State of Israel occupies all of Palestine, large tracts of southwest Syria, and much of south Lebanon. It also regularly bombs Yemen, including its civilian infrastructure such as its ports. It now is engaged in a war of attrition with Iran. It also routinely threatens Jordan and Egypt.

Carlson's actually understating how wrong Cruz is here, for the record. A passage similar to the one Cruz states does appear in the Bible twice - once, as Carlson says, in Genesis and again in Numbers. There's an overwhelming consensus of translators that the first incidence says "you", not "Israel"

Not just allowing but often *compelling* - cis kids prescribed puberty blockers are often as young as 8 or 9 and have no right to refuse, they can be restrained and have it forcibly administered to them kicking and screaming.

One of the basic things women are always taught to do for safety is not to be alone. Walk home with a friend, text a friend where you are so they know. Yet our politicians are determined to deny sex workers that basic safety and security measure, to criminalise any friend who tries to help them.

Can't remember where I read it, but strongly recall reading the story of that Moms For Liberty woman elected to School Board promising to get rid of all the "gender ideology" library books, she found there weren't any, and the other local MFLers got angry with her, convinced she was covering it up.
