Watched my wife search online for a certain backpack for our daughter’s next school term. Three navigations from Google to a shop, three IN YOUR FACE cookie banners, totally breaking her flow, each with their own twist logic. That we have come to accept this is absolutely mind-boggling.

With Safari, the common complaint is feature gap: new APIs not making it into the browser in a timely fashion. Personally I think buggy APIs are even worse. For instance, everything around Media is just "less reliable" than Chrome. And reported issues get stuck in rdar:// limbo.

🐛 Fixed an OOB memory access that was causing sporadic crashes on DuckDuckGo Android, but wasn't reproducible in Chrome, Safari, and did not trigger ASan. Of course DDG is not inspectable in release builds, so had to create a debug build first. One line of code, but lots of sweat involved... 😅

My mind will never comprehend.

From the Safari 26 Beta release notes: "Added support for any website to become a web app on iOS or iPadOS." I don't understand what this means. Non-PWA (no manifest) websites run in something like a SFSafariViewController? developer.apple.com/documentatio...
