Honestly, I'm a teacher and one of the things we teach our students is how to evaluate the reliability of a source--step one is does it sound realistic. I told another teacher yesterday that I keep seeing stories that don't sound realistic but they're true!

One of my all time favorites is Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi. It's more episodic (each chapter focuses on a different character) as it traces generations down from two half sisters from Africa.
