Yes these things are impossible to prove. Still it doesn't matter, the story stuck with me enough to go and try it. Now I have lipstick!

You put me on to cherries in the snow and that led me to a post about Sylvia Plath wearing it (maybe you linked it?) I rarely wear lipstick but on Friday I bought CITS, applied it there and then and walked out feeling great! Thanks. www.lunalunamagazine.com/blog/sylvia-...

Reading The Mirror and the Light. 875 pages. Sublime writing but struggling to hold it in bed!

To add. I did query this novel some years ago and has some v good rejections and have since rewritten and improved.

I'm just about to start querying a novel that's taken years to write and I really don't know if I have it in me. Part of me thinks to self publish with proper editing. Still a lot of work, still hit and miss but it's in my hands. Thoughts?

I always read and particularly like ones that talk about the way the book came about etc.

I read the wonderful Even the Dogs on a beach in Greece. I wouldn't say it was an ideal holiday read but it's a great book.

I rarely wear make up and when I do it's just eye shadow and mascara. The last foundation I bought was in 2011 for my wedding but recently (at 64), I've got a hankering for a bright lippy and a bit of a glow. No idea where to start. Do like the look of the Jones road. I need taking in hand!

Sounds great but I've just looked up the transport from Lancaster and it's 2 trains and a bus- over 4 hours! I'd have to stay over 2 nights. Tempted though...
