I have never liked skinny jeans but that's because I have historically been a heavier person so I never could wear them :')

She has no apparent body fat (which I thought these brain dead idiots supported). She is wearing make up (again they want women wearing make up because look at how they reacted to Aloy). She has no wrinkles or saggy skin. She is white. What. Else. Do. They. Want. (Oh I know trust me)

I don't disagree with you but I bet their idea of making the space usable again is just to make sure the outermost perimeter fence is secure and maybe rebuilt, and then to address the rest of the problems they will have armed guards...

Let's be prideful about *checks notes* no one having a job so no one will be able to buy the crap that the hyper capitalist corporations want us to consume. Winning!

There is a contract for Hoyo projects but Hoyo refused repeatedly to have the contract updated with a non union amendment that would have included AI-focused protections. Multiple people asked. The project never would have had to flip Union, nothing else would have changed.

And that is exactly why it is kind of important for there to be a solid contract drawn up to protect voice actors. Because corporations are not our friends. You cannot rely on someone saying "oh it's okay I will do the right thing." Hoyo is trying to do that with AI so actors have no recourse.

SC cannot and does not set the terms of the contract for Hoyo projects.

I have one. Very telling that when you get called out on your terrible behavior the only thing you can do is try to insult me.

This is so cruel for no reason. You can clearly see the floor in that video. That is NOT a pigsty. There is plenty of room to move around. You are complaining about a couple of scraps of working material? Get over it. Go get a hobby.

I do agree with your assessment that social media "politics" is just looking for any way to prove that the other person is some terrible villain so you can justify your hatred or dislike of them. And I am not here for it.

All workers, union or no, deserve better benefits. I want workers to be able to actually support themselves without needing to do 3 or 4 jobs (not all VA can pay rent only with VA). And some of my friends are voice actors. I want the industry to improve so it gives all actors more job security.

So people demanding that SAG AFTRA, an American Union, must alter the laws of foreign countries is... Sure a look. The most reasonable course of action for SAG AFTRA is to update contracts between business partners. Hence the strike and work withholding.
comment in response to
post
To amend a previous statement: I think Side Global is the most current studio which is actually recording Genshin. Side Global is headquartered in the UK. So again. American laws mean nothing in the UK.

If there are no contract protections built in here for workers, then any company (not just Hoyo, let us be clear here this applies to all other companies too) can violate workers' rights and steal their voices to train AI to do whatever they want and they can stop paying humans forever.
comment in response to
post
And sure I think a long term project that would be amazing for America is better protections for workers enshrined in our actual laws. Anti union rhetoric in America is getting bad lately.
But again. American laws mean nothing when Hoyo, an overseas company, owns the audio.
comment in response to
post
And this is why a lot of actors are worried about what is going to happen once the recordings get sent away overseas. The actors have no way to fight any rights violations or hold Hoyo accountable without the union's help.
comment in response to
post
Your understanding is flawed. Sound Cadence does not own the audio that they record for Genshin and Hoyo. Hoyo owns the recording. So SC having AI protections means nothing once Hoyo has the audio in their hands. Once Hoyo has the audio they can do whatever they want.

Er sorry I meant to say cannot support themselves with only union work.
comment in response to
post
But all voice actors cannot physically support themselves with non union work. That situation I think needs to fundamentally change. Either more work needs to be union OR it should stop being a "rule." Because it is NOT sustainable.
comment in response to
post
In the VO industry, the vast majority of work is non union. There is no way for every union member to only support themselves with union projects because there is not enough to go around. So if you say "stop doing non union work" then voice actors kind of can't support themselves...
comment in response to
post
Most work in the industry is non union. That is the explanation. Very very few workers can fully support themselves on purely union work because there is not enough of it. And that is why actors historically have worked a lot of non union jobs because they kinda have no choice if they want money.

Supply issues will probably be a thing for a while but I genuinely believe it is better to buy it sooner rather than later. The price has a potential for getting worse because of current geopolitical issues and I would not be surprised if a lot of people are worried about that. I am. Lol

I unironically love the OG Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon dubs and I will carry that with me forever. Sure yeah the music was really good too but we were mostly just focusing on dubs. Yu-Gi-Oh is one of my favorite shows and partially it is because of the dub itself. Dan Green is my eternal Goat.
comment in response to
post
There are some dubs, especially like 90s and early 2000s dubs which maybe had some moments that were not so great. Not everything can be perfect. But people will use one or two bad examples to claim that all English dubbing is/was bad and that assessment is so unfair and dishonest.
comment in response to
post
When people criticize the quality of English dubbing then I know those people did not watch first season Pokemon. That dub is hilarious and not because it is bad. The one liners are pure gold.

I am aspiring to be a Barbara main, I just want to do silly things that people do not expect to see. Having Barbara do over 100k was my goal last night and I am so happy by the result. Now to shoot for 150k and beyond! #BarbaraMains
