Let’s Discuss WOUND INFECTIONS - takes about a day for an infection to start - CLEANING a wound early is most important, even w tap water - slowly worsens - if pus forms, it’s called an abscess and the pus should be drained - your character can even get sepsis #writing #scriptsky #filmsky #booksky

Quick Fact: No one schedules appointments in the ER Patients keep checking/decompensating, lab/imaging tests keep resulting, and ambulances keep bringing in critical patients Thus, ER Docs don't get a "break," and we often have to time bathroom breaks carefully (if we go at all) #writing #medsky

I know I dispel a lot of inaccurate medical tropes, but let’s confirm an accurate one: PROFUSE BLEEDING FROM HEAD TRAUMA - the scalp is VERY well vascularized - can bleed A TON from very small wounds - they arrive w layers of gauze, but stops w DIRECT PRESSURE #writing #booksky #filmsky #scriptsky
