Melbourne was a 1 directory city, people used to know and share the Melways reference to their own address. Sydney, you asked whether you had UBD or Gregory's (especially since we used to live inside the scope of the UBD but outside that of Gregory's)

Many of the schools and other orgs that would usually put on sausage sizzles have struggled with volunteer numbers. Our local primary school downgraded from sausages to cake stall this year for precisely this reason. @mackayim.bsky.social did you offer yourself up to help?

And it's not every day you get to use a language authored by Weird Al.

Yes. Depends a bit on the value that the investigating entity puts on following the signal vs the value the investigatee puts on staying hidden. Both parties have some scope to play with (as you said, "what are you using it for").

So, where's the highest hypothetical risk of identity reveal using a burner? a) Follow the money/acquisition of said item? b) Telemetry data while in your possession correlated with general surveillance system? c) Network effects - your contacts might be compromised?
comment in response to post
Are you baking ongoing use of the burner phone to your assumptions? Or also allowing for a single purpose, then dump model?

Consider publishing on a masthead that isn't primarily a USA one? The Guardian, The Register, even Der Spiegel or Heise if you think that being primarily in German wouldn't limit the reach.

Most countries have some kind of Distinguished Talent visa for which you would (easily) qualify. This may be a better route than sponsorship given your standing and reputation. Here's Australia's immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/gettin... I can introduce you to people who can get you nominated.

Personally leaning towards cassette: nostalgic but otherwise technically inferior.
