your and your partner's and likely some family members' time and ability to provide that needed care to other living things that already exist and really could have used the help. If you have a need to be a caregiver, making someone new to care for is like the worst option right now frankly.

you presumably really want them to have a good and safe future with ample opportunity for growth and happiness. Then also, there's a huge imbalance btw people and other living things NEEDING care and those able and willing to give that needed care. By making a new person you just reduced

who will be extremely dependent on you (while you're also having to deal with the extreme stress + uncertainty of the moment + erosion of support for you as a parent), but that new person kinda needs a future that's looking less and less likely to be good and safe, and

The No Kings pre-mobilization training Zoom call hit capacity in its first 7 minutes (I think Ezra Levin said they had 20,000 people signed on) earlier this evening, and over 5,500 people were watching the livestream on Youtube

The line moving forward for every single one of us who actually opposes this dude is, "I stand with the protesters."
No one needs your hot takes about optics.
Democracy lives or dies by what happens next with this.

Time and time again, when I'm starting to feel run down by... every gat damn thing... I see folks step up and deliver when they find out about something PRACTICAL they can actually DO.

Display your commitment to quality, authenticity, integrity, and protecting human intelligence and creativity and the environment. An easy little step towards changing the culture and showing it's not just a cool, harmless new tool, and remaining true to humanity is far more admirable than shortcuts

have you considered a more decentralized system for collecting cards, where local chapters collect the signatures and report their numbers to you to be aggregated into the national numbers w/out sharing private info? Having everyone's info in one place seems like more of a security risk

We have to strike for a better future. Other countries look at us like we are crazy 🤪. We are all so beaten down; we have all just accepted this is how the system works, and we individually do our best to navigate it. I’m personally tired and ready for something wayyyyyyyyy better. Aren’t you?
