I had no idea where to put the feelings he inspired š But ace attraction is a bit different I think. It doesnāt necessarily translate to physical wants.

Iāve been furry since before I got online in the 90s and had a name for what I was into, lol. Finding other people also into it was such a joy and relief I think it overwhelmed any chance of my being ashamed of it. Iām glad you got to the donāt give a fuck point! Itās fun!

Yeah, heās been pretty great about taking care of big stuff when weāve brought it to his attention. Itās just smallish things we actually have the skills and ability to fix that weāve handled ourselves.

Yep. We donāt even own it, we rent it, and weāve fixed so many bad boomer DIY fix-it decisions. Landlord gives us a break on the rent for taking care of things for him, lolsob.

Marketing campaigns in the early 1900s pushed the pink for girls and blue for boys color coding when companies realized they could sell twice as many toys by gendering them.

This chatbot isn't lying or pretending. It's doing exactly what it was created to do. And that millions of users never ask a probing or clarifying question is the whole point of using it. They want the easy answer, and LLMs give them that. These are stochastic parrots, nothing more.

ā¦you know I think thatās probably why I enjoyed that one as much as I did. 𤣠Itās exactly the sort of ridiculous fanfic level SW thatās right up my alley.

Definitely! Itās also a weird and very not-corporate small business, which is part of why it works. Thereās more flexibility for brains that donāt do well mashed into one size fits all blocks.

Everyone I work with is some flavor of neurodivergent, and my boss has a knack for finding folks who mesh well. We help shore each other up and the hyperfocus produces some incredible stuff! But itās not a disability hire or a specific requirement. We all want the business to do well.

Anyway, hey libraries, now is a great time to put new language into your collection development policies allowing you to opt out of purchasing and to facilitate weeding AI generated content. You don't have to buy everything just bc your patrons might want it.

Yep, right there with you. They can join the fight but they donāt get to lead the way.

Laparoscopic! Cysts ate both my ovaries, hence yeeting them too. Uterus was full of fibroids and I had endometriosis on top of that. Been on some form of HRT for nearly a decade now. Everything exploded on me in my early 30s, heh.

Itās major surgery! I had my remaining ovary removed at the same time, and I canāt do anything stronger than Tylenol for painkillers, so I had that as an added complication. Youāll be fine. Your body will make you rest when it needs to, lol.

Iām headdesking at the newscaster pushing the app at the end as if it wonāt ALSO have the same degraded data issue. Every weather app, free or paid, pulls from NWS/NOAA sources. If those sources donāt exist, the forecast is gonna suck no matter where you get it.

Took me about six months to fully recover from mine, even when I felt like I was healed up. Iād just crash mid afternoon and need a nap for a few hours.

End the genocide.
Restitution for Gaza.
End Antisemitism.
End terrorism in all its guises.
These things are all possible.

My heart aches for every innocent person who, in a world of plenty, suffers needlessly. Who lives in fear.
I am not one dimensional in my capacity for care.
And frankly, people who are? Often scared the hell out of me.

Oh wow, I havenāt thought about the wild ride that is Christian/biblical numerology in ages. Thatās a hell of a rabbit hole.

Very much on brand. Flashbacks to church basements full of kids singing āonward Christian soldiersā and āIām in the lordās armyā as a weekly activity.

Rolling Stone did a piece on how ChatGPT is absolutely triggering cult-like delusional behavior in people. Iāve seen hints of that from the hardcore fans I know. Not something Iād call benign. www.rollingstone.com/culture/cult...

Massively high dose plus lack of activity may have slowed down digestion, too. Plus poster may have been exaggerating for effect or I may be misremembering details. I read it a while ago.

I still sometimes giggle over the story of the lady who chugged a bottle of weed sex lube and then spent three days in bed stoned out of her gourd and covered in chip crumbs. She was ultimately fine! Annoyed the heck out of her partner, but zero lasting harm, lol.

Yeah, itās definitely the latter. Eating a ton of weed wonāt kill you (unless youāre allergic, like anyone can be allergic to plant things). It just makes people real goofy. But itās an easy way for them to target minorities and throw them in prison forever.

What I think it does tell us though is the fact that BlueSky doesn't suppress links matters. SHARE YOUR WORK. SHARE THE LINKS TO BUY IT. Please. There is data proving this out.

There will always be things we need to be loud about, things where the performance is the point.
But we increasingly also have things where the point is not attracting notice, and performative posting just endangers you and anyone you might help.

And honestly stop wasting your time policing what people are or are not posting about. It does nothing except recklessly urge people to undermine any efforts they may be taking, and if you don't know them well enough to know what they're doing more quietly, they aren't your problem anyway.
