like sidewalks are almost the opposite of driveways
comment in response to

ya, exactly. but you want that sort of damage (because it coincides with impact absorption) on sidewalks
comment in response to
post
and ramp-like or rolled curves are designed with primarily the car in mind to lessen damage that might occur from impacting a vertical curb not pedestrians. they're typically used for non-pedestrian areas where encroaching is less dangerous, not sidewalks
comment in response to
post
Well curbs are most effective in lower speed areas in that that's the scenario in which they're most difficult to go over. Sloping a curb towards a road reduces it's its height which necessarily makes it less safe in addition to making it more ramp like rather than wall / stopping

Curb height is kinda obviously one of the primary factors of a curbs safety and sloping curbs inwards like in demos picture kind of defeats their purpose in any manner other than as visual markers. similarly, you can kind of presume that sloped rather than vertical hinders impact absorption

Alright doneeee. Hitboxes, individual abilities, server validation before ability activation and so on. Also got client - server replication set up and running along with some batch processing for network efficiency.

yesss ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ my original post was just a half joke. i just thought the notion of his appearance being related to plot via his parents was a less convincing reason than just what toby decides to make him look like for appearances sake
comment in response to

True, Asgores character could be more developed from his current side-character status which could justify a personality-appearance parallel, but I still think Asriel having his own character independent of his parents pasts is the most interesting outcome and appearance in that case is irrelevant

*narrow and specific to circumstance
comment in response to

Asgore's personality isn't developed enough outside of his relation to the kingdom as its governor and desire for revenge for monster's imprisonment in the barrier & both of those traits are too narrow for a similar looking Asriel to represent some sort personality parallel if that were an aim
comment in response to

Boringgggg. I feel like the extent of it's impact would be a snide, surprised, or whathaveyou remark from Toriel / Asgore. The more actual effect is just in the mind of the viewer who says 'Oh wow, he looks like his dad more than his mom.'

I also don't think I've actually seen much college Asriel fanart which makes me sad. One of the ones I remember is lost to the ether now. it's not on the wayback machine either :(

I've always wondered how secure browser password stores are. Like I've always sort of thought that a program could have easy access to them but I also figured / wanted to believe there was some sort of barrier / encryption
