In case we were in doubt about how the Framers viewed multilingual-ism, it's possible that the first *printed* copy of the Declaration of Independence was actually in German, published July 5th, 1776. The English version wasn't distributed until July 6th. 9% of Americans in 1776 spoke German.

It's a good 5 hr drive from El Paso to Big Bend National Park, and it's one of the lowest traffic national parks in the US. A line of hundreds of cars, closed alternate entrances, no maintenance of trash & bathrooms. There are going to be a lot of very angry people & hope they know who to blame.
