You're right on this one. The pendulum always swings. And the harder you pull it, the bigger the backswing. Are you ready to start to rebuild? We are

We the Builders has been documenting what's happening since February. We have a lot of the infrastructure in place and are able to partner with other organizations.
We are a nonprofit and are expanding our reach right now.

Personally, I routinely forget this. About my own work, about the magic* of others. It's a constant practice to recognize the complexities around me, to acknowledge it
* something I don't understand or is hard for me but comes easily for others

The challenge with celebrating a good government is that when it's going well, you don't notice it. Preventing suffering, making it simple to apply for services, and things that Just Work are invisible.
Now is the time to notice that things that look easy are actually the result of hard work

It's full of the dedicated and the driven and the ones who won't stay down. It's all of us who want a better future than what we're moving toward now

We fully support @trahan.house.gov's efforts to reform the Privacy Act of 1974, specifically to protect American's data from the abuse we're seeing today. That reform is long overdue.

Non-serious answer: would a worm leak national security secrets? No? It can't speak?
Maybe it would be a better office holder than some of these people!

Serious answer: We all have to consent to running for office.
AI cannot give consent, if anyone's asking. Claude: "No, I cannot give consent to participate in real world things. I don't have the ability to participate in real-world activities or provide legally valid consent for anything."

Brandi's right.
And if we can train them to peck any brain that resembles wood. Which is every one of them because their brains are solid and not working right

In firefighting, the Afghanistan evacuation and infant formula shortage were both notable rapid responses.
And for sheer force of will, I love Direct File. Helping IRS and the whole country believe that we can make an amazing service in government. Also the data structures are really fun

By amount of impact, it's the COVID work overall. So much of the reporting and testing infrastructure was overseen by us.
Personally, I always loved the 0-5 Project because it gave us tangible items to help parents of young children.

The encryption algorithm is solid. The network graph for each user is more vulnerable. It connects back to a real person, often via phone number.
But hey, if you're in this regime, you will use a knockoff clone from Israel that downloads data to god knows where.

This should be a post on We the Builders or our newsletter, actually. Can we take this back to write a longer-form piece? It's too hard to answer this so quick! Deserves a thoughtful answer
