Thanks! Never heard of LindoDeer, and I'm reluctant about Chinese apps. Babbel I'm familiar with. Usually it's a little more on the expensive side, but they occasionally have deals.
The other key is the way they present the material. Duolingo was really good at mixing it up and socializing it.
