Assumption that #delirium underdetection was normal = bad old days. Now we know that better detection is possible. This study showed 3 to 4-fold increases in delirium coding in England & Scotland 2012-2020. Real progress is possible & we need to keep pushing. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37654785/

🤔 Delirium treatment is actually pretty complex. When we say 'delirium treatment' what do we mean? Much more than 'treat the cause'. I've cared for people with delirium for many years now, & it takes me at least 20 mins to work through all the variables, make a plan, & communicate it.
