they're back.

I love spring training because nothing matters and everything is wacky and also there’s some guy named Matt in the lineup who you have never heard of in your life and probably will never hear of ever again

the philadelphia phillies are playing baseball today

real dork behavior to harbor so much anger and fear toward trans people instead of just being normal

this is becoming a common scam on linkedin too — if someone ever asks you to log into a weird API or even uses this language of “the other editors need to be on the call” (???) then it’s definitely fake. also good to look up the name and see if they have posts on TC (no writer here named hannah)

i miss when it felt difficult to get through to people that internet culture informs the outside world and now something called “DOGE” is destroying the country

after 1.5 years of obsessing over pottery and being very self critical, I think this is the first time I got stuff back from the kiln and was like okay these are fucking bangers

how do you explain to professors that AI detectors aren’t reliable

Public comment is now open for passport gender marker changes. You can go here to go to each of the three proposed passport rules, and submit comment. My suggestion: be unique, argue for trans-inclusive policies, against the constitutionality of the changes, etc. www.reddit.com/r/Passports/...

I slept very badly the last few nights and was finally SO READY to get a good sleep tonight and really did a full night time sleep ritual and then at 2 AM the fire alarm went off for like 20 mins straight and we all evacuated into the cold but it was a false alarm and now I can’t sleep

last week I had the flu and it sucked really bad for like two days but then it quickly got better because I am vaccinated against the flu. hope we still have those things moving forward. you know. vaccinating against viruses so that if you’re exposed to them it’s not as bad. pretty cool stuff!!

I think this is a really good point and I also think this point extends to the whole Drake using AI debacle — people don’t want inauthentic fake garbage and Kendrick unanimously winning over Drake in public opinion AND the music itself makes me feel inspired that we can resist AI slop

please tell me if this tip line gets spammed with bee movie

Thanks to @zackwhittaker.bsky.social @seanokane.bsky.social @charlesrollet.bsky.social and @lorenzofb.bsky.social for help on this. This project is designed as a living document - we expect a lot of changes over the next months (years?). techcrunch.com/2025/02/18/t...

I'm so proud to work with these awesome people who did some really comprehensive reporting and made a very clear map of who's who in the Musk/DOGE universe and why we should care -- knowledge is power, etc etc techcrunch.com/2025/02/18/t...

i have been thinking about this on bluesky bc i think we're used to being on twitter where it feels like we're actively arguing for our lives but on bluesky if i scream about how everyone deserves human rights, people (mostly? i hope?) agree with me so are we just amplifying negativity when dunking?

googled a pottery issue I was having and the AI response was so blatantly not good advice

going to the pottery studio on a day off to stop thinking about work only to plop a pot onto an NYT article about zuck and trump

1. On Friday, protests erupted at Stonewall National Monument, the historic site of the Stonewall uprisings that ignited the modern gay rights movement, in response to the National Park Service removing transgender people from the Stonewall Website. Subscribe to support our journalism.

Folks saying “this won’t change Zionists minds” - who cares? This isn’t about them. This publicly separates zionism and Judaism and creates community for like-minded people (who’ve been told they’re not real Jews). It will give people COURAGE to speak out. Not all activism is about changing minds

if you showed me this in 2022 I would’ve been like “this is the worst case scenario but it can’t get THAT bad right” and you know what it really did

having a cool time where a medication made me have a bad side effect and I mostly figured it out by taking another medication to counteract the side effect but then that medication had a new side effect so then I took another supplement to counteract that and now I’m just plain common cold sick

my friends are deciding our fantasy baseball league draft order via ap euro exam and i have mentioned not cheating so many times that now they think i am going to cheat

axios, why are we doing this? why are we "[turning] to chatgpt" for some gimmicky article just to come up with a pun about jalen hurts' name? we're writers, act like it!
