So much of the MAGA appeal can be explained by resentment—resentment toward history, toward intelligence, toward anyone they perceive as above them. They want to make these people suffer and then gloat, even if it means hurting themselves. There's not much else to it.

NATO should perceive this as a threat, because it is one. The US President is quite literally saying he wants Greenland, and will take it if it isn't given freely. Despicable, and it's very scary how normalized this behavior has become. This statement alone would have destroyed any other admin.

A lot of my burnout of late stems from the belief that this is the new norm, and that we will be suffering for quite some time to come. Sorry to be bleak again. Trump is a rallying point, not a creator. Even if Trump is unseated, and his successors too, the mind poison of new age fascism remains.
