The overseas voters on the list are a separate issue and a much smaller group than those with missing data on their registration files, as I understand it. Being on the list doesn't mean that you did anything wrong! This will be appealed so I don't expect yesterday's decision to be final.

The issue is with missing info on registration forms (last 4 of SSN or NCDL # used to be optional and are now required), so anyone on the list can submit a new form (paper or online) with all required info if they're worried.

This is not true. The 15 day period to cure your registration hasn't started yet and may not happen at all, depending on appeals. Here's a statement from the NCSBE: www.ncsbe.gov/information-.... Please stop spreading misinformation.

Fair. Just encouraging folks to wait until there are clear instructions for how to cure their ballots/registrations before trying to contact everyone on the Griffin list to avoid confusing the impacted voters. I expect that there will be an organized response from CCNC & others.

Yes, I think there is an option for the 4th Circuit to take this case back up. They wanted the state to rule on it first but have not given up the case.

Please reach out to @commoncausenc.bsky.social. They have led the outreach so far to voters on this list and I'm sure they'll be organizing phone banks if needed. This decision will be appealed, however, so it's not yet clear if/when the curing process will actually happen.

Important note: Voters on the list will have 15 business days to respond after a letter is mailed from their County Board of Elections that includes instructions on how to cure their registration/what documentation to provide. The 15 day clock has not started yet.

Efforts to contact voters on this list have been led by @commoncausenc.bsky.social so far. If this ruling stands, I expect they will mobilize folks. Keep an eye on www.commoncause.org/north-caroli...

They can still connect each ballot to their identifying info. My understanding is that, if this ruling stands (it will be appealed), the ~65k voters involved would receive a mailing with instructions to cure their registration within 15 days, after which there would be a recount for this race only.

Okay, just a few speakers before they went into recess. Hopefully that's it for the SAVE Act for now 🤞

A few months ago, I looked up the installation instruction for the motion sensing light switch in the bathroom of my office building and then reprogrammed it. No one appears to have noticed.

As said partner, I can confirm that this is true. But my lack of time to listen to podcasts does not mean that I love you any less, Meg!

It's just not right. It should be more exciting than that. Who branded a plain 10 inch hotdog?!

But how do they know they want to spend the rest of their lives together at age 5?!

And the $10 million given to nonprofits is ~0.13% of their budget. If my math is right. Feel free to fact-check me @natebakerdurham.bsky.social

Could be wrong, but I think the amount of taxes he claimed they paid last year was $44 million, which may sound like a lot until you realize that their 2022 budget was $7.7 billion. So 0.57% (if their 2024 budget was similarly sized).
