Comfrey is popping up! Thrives on neglect!

Sorry about my filthy hands! I’ve been planting ginseng. Planted two mulberry trees today too! My hazelnuts are leafing out, as are my blueberries. And look at my baby ramp patch! :) #garden #maine 🌱

Had to come to Boston for a work event in the morning. The view from my hotel room is quite nice, and I got a quick break from set up earlier to walk around Copley Square and enjoy the sunshine a bit.

Good night to be a frog in Maine! And to be a human who loves frogs and newts! Did some data recording for Maine Big Night. In 1/2 hour we saw (and helped cross the road) 24 peppers 4 live red efts 1 dead red eft 1 great tree frog 1 pickerel frog And heard a barred owl!

Made a yummy foraged food pie thing today for dinner. Yay for free food and spring foraging! Recipe if anyone cares: Phyllo dough, 1/2 a pack Foraged greens Garlic Light life veggie sausage 1/2 roll Olive oil Onions Whatever spices you like Salt/pepper …continued below

Bloodroot is blooming, daffodils have opened up, lilac is budding! Ahhhh…spring! #maine #garden 🌱🌼

"...Most of us have an intuitive sense of how long it takes a drop of water to form and fall. More viscous liquids, like oil or shampoo or honey, drop more slowly depending on how thick...." #weirdnews #weird #offbeat #odd #science #cats #health www.upworthy.com/cats-butthol...

My little Maine garden, or pieces of it. Buds on one of my linden trees, bloodroot starting to blossom, lady’s mantle doing pretty stuff, and my little patch of ramps is starting to come up!!!

Lung cancer screening was clear, and no bad stuff in my lungs from multiple bouts of COVID pneumonia. Whew. Everything else looks good too, at least what the CT scan saw.

Lemon balm, rhubarb, and nettles coming up in my garden. Peas planted. Prepping the veggie garden more this weekend. Spring is springing slowly but surely. 🌱🌱🌱 Early spring in Maine. Organized my seeds yesterday. I’ve decided to take all the old/questionable ones and make a chaos garden out back!

A little cross stitch I made for my niece. First one I’ve ever done. Keeps my mind busy while my shoulder heals. Can’t do much else of importance. Slow and painful healing from this surgery. Spring is finally coming and the ice is gone, so I can go outside without being worried about falling.

One of my friends is making t shirts to raise some much needed funds. Follow her for more creations!

Have been quiet since the great furnace disaster of 2025. Had shoulder surgery a few weeks ago and am just getting back to normal. It will be healed up by gardening time, I hope. I did manage to start some American Ginseng one handed which is sprouting nicely!
