The decision by the Israeli government to resume attacks on Palestinians is appalling. Over 400 people have been killed as Netanyahu continues his relentless onslaught on innocent people.

The Premier is panicking in the face of campaigns by the Opposition & right-wing media & making policy based on knee-jerk reactions. We cannot go back to a bail system that locks up women, First Nations & vulnerable people for non-violent crimes like shoplifting. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

The Premier's bail law announcement yesterday threatens to put more First Nations people in prison and does nothing for community safety. www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

The Premier thinks locking up kids is going to solve the crime problem. Has she asked herself why these kids are offending in the first place? How about providing affordable housing, healthcare and proper supports for victims of family violence.

Labor is trying to abandon its responsibility to provide public housing, and it’s just unacceptable.

This government is so heartless.

BREAKING: The Premier just confirmed that there will be no public housing rebuilt after North Melbourne and Flemington public housing is demolished.

One week until our International Women’s Day event! ⏰ Tickets are still available (they’re free!), so RSVP if you haven’t already. 🗓️ Wed, 12th March ⏰ 6pm-8pm 📍 Brunswick Neighbourhood House 🔗 marchforward.eventbrite.com

A govt department's report recommends Victoria needs 60,000 more public & community homes. Victoria has the least amount of public housing and spends the least out of anywhere else in the country.

The anniversary of the Christchurch mosque massacre is less than 2 weeks away. Could the Prime Minister finally acknowledge the horrific Islamophobic abuse our community is experiencing and treat it like the emergency it is? The double standards are glaring.

It's absolutely ridiculous that the gender pay gap is still raging on. New data shows that only 1 in 5 employers have closed the gender pay gap, with 72% of employers having a pay gap that favours men. 🧵

We welcome plans more housing in Brunswick and Coburg, but the Labor State Government must duplicate the Upfield train line if new residents are to have a proper train service and not be left waiting when trains are cancelled (often!) or 20mins away, every time.

Disabled people are not second-class citizens. Recently there have been shocking incidents against disabled people in taxis and ride-shares, from being denied access to vehicles because of guide dog needs, to horrific instances of violent abuse and exploitation.

One of the questions the Greens get asked the most is, how will we pay for our plans to address the cost of living crisis? Well this week, we’re introducing a bill that will do just that. A bank levy at 0.05% that will raise more than $1 billion a year. greens.org.au/vic/news/med...

A shocking attack that has no place in our community. Northern Metro is a beautiful, vibrant, and proudly diverse electorate, and there is no room for hatred, discrimination or abuse. (1/2)

A historic moment in Aotearoa/New Zealand, with Taranaki Mounga (Taranaki Mountain) being granted legal personhood. This is an important step towards both environmental justice and Indigenous justice, and shows that one can’t be achieved without the other. We in Australia should be taking notes. 🧵

Trump’s decision is an unprecedented attack on global human rights, international aid and the Palestinian people in their time of greatest need.

Today marks one year since Samantha Murphy was reported missing in Ballarat. My heart is with her family and community still grieving her loss, and still without closure. Unfortunately, her story is far too common.

Excellent to see migrant communities are stepping in and making sure that their communities have access to swimming lessons and water safety information in their own languages. But the burden should not have to fall on them.

Despite what Brad Battin and the Liberals say, January 26th protests are not “hateful”. The only hateful thing is celebrating a day that marks the beginning of invasion, dispossession, and genocide of First Nations people. I’ll be marching on Sunday, and I hope you can join. ✊🏽

The oligarchs may be taking over in the US, but we still have a choice here to not let hatred and corporate greed take us down the same dark path. Let’s continue to show up for one another to fight for peace, fairness and equity.

A new report from Oxfam Australia shows Australia’s billionaires took home $67,000 an hour on average last year. Meanwhile, Victorians can barely afford rent or groceries. This is exactly why the Greens are fighting so hard to make billionaires & big corps pay their fair share.

Leadership in our political parties should reflect the rich diversity of our community.

International Human Rights Day calls us to reflect on the fight for justice, especially for our First Nations peoples. Dutton’s comments on removing Aboriginal flags highlight the urgent need to centre First Nations voices and continue the work of achieving justice, recognition, and reconciliation.

This week, the @victoriangreens.bsky.social wrote to the premier inviting the Labor government to support our bill to enshrine abortion access into the Victorian Constitution. Add your voice by signing our pledge, joining the 8,000+ people who have already signed: greens.org.au/vic/campaign...

This morning's firebombing of a synagogue in Melbourne is unacceptable. Discrimination in all its forms, whether it's antisemitism, Islamophobia or any other, must be called out and must stop.

I’m in awe of our newest Greens MP @anasina-greens.bsky.social who just gave her maiden speech to Victorian Parliament. Her speech was a historical moment as Victoria welcomed its first Pasefika-Samoan MP, and an experienced fighter for marginalised communities and diversity in essential services.

Pacific Islands are standing up at the International Court of Justice, holding high-emitting countries like Australia accountable for their role in the climate crisis. The Pacific Islands didn’t cause this crisis, but they are on the frontlines. Australia, it’s time to listen.
