Weak words from our leaders are not enough. We need our government to take the strongest action possible to put pressure on the Israeli government to stop their heinous acts.
Sanctions against Netanyahu and his government are needed NOW.

This announcement confirms our fears that this government is washing their hands of public housing in Victoria.
Labor is handballing peopleās lives and the housing crisis to a private company.

We need to force these companies to act to ensure they close their pay gaps, and bring real equity to their payrolls.

And this gap gets even wider when we look at other intersecting forms of discrimination ā people of colour, First Nations people, LGBTQ+ people, and disabled people all face exacerbated gender inequality in the workplace.

This means that women and gender diverse people continue to face hugely unfair compensation at work, entrenching poverty and affecting their economic security & quality of life.

There is so much work that needs to be done. We need to be investing in community education programs, properly funding disability services, and ensuring all of us do our part to create a society free of discrimination.

These are heartbreaking, but sadly, not isolated incidents. These are symptoms of an ableist society that treats disabled people as less than.

With hate crimes and far-right groups rising, itās increasingly vital that we look out for each other. Take care of your neighbours, build up community, and stand strong against division.
We cannot let hate win. (2/2)

This is what we should be working towards here.
In the middle of a climate crisis, and 250 yrs into the colonisation of this continent, itās past time that Indigenous knowledge & land sovereignty takes centre stage.
We must address the problems we face with a decolonial and intersectional lens.

Itās also a big step towards decolonisation and restorative justice for MÄori. It acknowledges the harm inflicted, empowers communities in their governance and cultural practices, and recognises & protects their spiritual ties to the land and sacred sites.

Environmentally, this status allows for stronger conservation efforts and ecosystem management. It restores traditional uses of the area, protects against forced land sales and exploitation, and boosts work to protect the biodiversity of native flora and fauna.

Labor cannot just wring its hands and look the other way. Australia must step up where the US is failingāby increasing its contributions to UNRWA to ensure services continue, and by reaffirming its commitment to the UN Human Rights Council to defend international law and fundamental freedoms.

The Albanese Government has been complicit in genocide and timid as a mouse when it comes to calling out Israelās atrocities, but surely even they must denounce the utter madness of Trumpās comments that the US will own and run the Gaza strip.

This issue deserves urgent action.
We need:
ā¢ More prevention + education programs for men & boys to address gendered violence
ā¢ Adequate & accessible support services in metro & regional areas
ā¢ More support & resources for First Nations, disabled, culturally diverse, and other at-risk women

Gendered violence intersects with other forms of discrimination too.
First Nations women experience violence at disproportionally high rates. Queer & trans women are at higher risks of violence, as are migrant and refugee women. Disabled women are more than 2x likelier to report sexual violence.

Tragedies like these do not happen in a vacuum.
This is a symptom of a society with widespread misogyny and a system that doesnāt prioritise the safety of women & marginalised people.
101 women were killed last year due to gender-based violence.
Just a month into 2025, the toll is already at 7.

Multicultural communities are at higher risk of drowning, and it's clear there's major demand for programs like these.
With 300+ drownings in the last year, the gov should be increasing funding for multicultural services to ensure EVERYONE has access to training & information that will save lives.
