the other downside is that like almost every bank uses chexsystems so if you get your account closed for overdrafting you’re like blacklisted at every other bank. it’s why so many people just straight up don’t have bank accounts

I have been super paranoid to never overdraft as an adult and my mom hasn’t had to overdraft since I was a kid lol but essentially you are in debt to the bank and you might?? get charged daily overdraft fees if you don’t settle up and if it goes on long enough the bank might close your account

I don’t even know if banks do it anymore because they got called out on it but they used to settle accounts by doing debits before deposits, so if your account had $5, you deposited $50, and you went out and spent $10 at three different places it’d take the $10 transactions out first so [cont]
