#FallFriday The Fall performing Dead Beat Descendant on Snub TV in 1989. "It's not as easy as it looks"

This is an excellent book that dispenses with all of the tiresome 'mad Syd Barrett' stories - most of which do not stand up to scrutiny - and concentrates on what he recorded and when, and actually ends up giving a stronger picture of him as an artists. timworthington.org/2018/08/25/t...

Would very much like Simon Bates to narrate this beef with the love theme from Romeo and Juliet in the background.

This could only be improved upon by the addition of Yootha Joyce.

We were never meant to have this much access to the thoughts of absolute bellends.

This dog politely asked for a musician's drumstick in the middle of their performance. Always excited to find a fellow stick lover. 12/10

Chris Morris' late-night radio nightmare Blue Jam literally shifted my perception when it first appeared, especially in the context of hazy post-Diana national madness. Here's the story of how it *did* first appear, and the impact that first series had. timworthington.org/2019/05/22/e...

Post a pic of who you wanted to be as a little kid

Frankly blows my mind that Harry Robinson arranged River Man by Nick Drake, All Our Days by Sandy Denny and the theme from Hammer's anthology series Journey To The Unknown, three pieces of music I became separately obsessed with as a teenager long before I realised they had him in common.

Obviously Twitter is now a horrendous place, but I do still have fond memories of it, like when stuff like this would happen.

Everyone wants there to be a grand scheme behind all of this but the terrible truth is that extremely stupid people are in charge and they have a fanatical devotion to wrong, childlike concepts of society and economics cooked up by right wing radio hosts in order to sell tainted dietary supplements

April Fool’s Day. A day where you shouldn’t trust anything you read or anything anyone says. So basically the same as every other day then.

@sianberry.bsky.social - “How can she take money away from disabled people rather than get a grip on the obscene wealth being hoarded in this country?” These cuts will kill, shame on this government.

It is as if the guardian is in some kind of competitive ‘bland-off’ with Richard Madley

As best you can, ignore him.

Emily Dickinson. #Poetry

Absolutely beyond tired of this kind of ideologically loaded determination to hasten the apparently inevitable 'demise' - not *quite* as apparent to everyone else - of something that the overwhelming majority of ordinary people are more than happy with. For the love of sanity, put a sock in it.
