All set up at Ages of Pages - come and say hi!

Me too! Come and say hi!!!

Cool cool actually the disabled are "mad as fuck" and "doing a ton of activism" and they'd know this if they ever talked to a disabled person

I feel like this is going to be even more important as we continue dealing with all that is happening. PFL was created by people with intellectual disabilities for a reason. Identity first language is becoming popular for good reasons but ignoring why PFL was created & who created it does harm.

Hello all! My next book, BRIGHTER THAN SCALE, SWIFTER THAN FLAME, will be out very soon (May 6th)! I call it my 'lesbian dragons novella'. It's gotten a starred Library Journal review and it is a Indie Next AND LibraryReads pick for May. Right now B&N are having a preorder sale, until 25th April!

Schrodinger's Books has a pre-order page for my Terrier, Worrier! Mary kept book readers going through the Covid lockdowns, hand delivering books around the town, please support her bookshop if you'd like to pre-order Terrier, Worrier: schrodingersbooks.co.nz/p/terrier-wo...

Wah I am heading out of town at some ungodly hour tomorrow and I have So Much still to do beforehand.

Writing residencies are so often accessibility nightmares - and worse, some of them treat that as a feature rather than a bug. So really pleased to see this from Verb Wellington. It won't meet everyone's needs, but it's a big step forward: www.verbwellington.nz/home-based-w...

🚨 New blog post: National Party attacks accessibility for disabled people The Government is repealing the Plain Language Act — legislation that helps disabled people in Aotearoa New Zealand by requiring public information to be clear and easy to understand. www.openaccess.nz/blog/nationa...

I'd like to see Hipkins be as clear and as passionate about the threat to trans people as the threat to Radio New Zealand.

Anyone who claims to be concerned about women's safety but isn't concerned about at least one of: affordable housing, raising benefit levels, public transport frequency, pharmaceutical testing, and airbags in cars is fucking suspect imo.

Did you know that the US government once tried to transplant east coast eels to California? Weird but true! It's a fun story. Train loads of eels! Crashes! Loss! Pyrrhic victory! So. Settle in, friends, for a thread about some well-trained eels. 1/8 🗃️🧪

WITH PERFECT FUCKING TIMING my mystery phone harasser is back with new tactics.

FUCK'S SAKE FUCK OFF WINSTON FUCK OFF

Giving up on life after meeting Vance might be the most relatable thing a pope has ever done.

I think the worst is when we do this to each other as disabled people - when we separate ourselves and say "I'm not like those people!" We're doing the work of eugenics for them by acting as though we're better. We owe it to each other to not leave anyone behind or throw anyone under the bus.

New release! Book 3 in the Musical Mayhem series of paranormal cosy mysteries is out now. When a death rocks the musical community, all that stands between Esther and justice is one grumpy ghost.

Let's be extremely clear here. The lives of ALL Autistic people are worthy. Yes there are some who will never do any of the things that are stated be low. THEY ARE STILL WORTH HAVING LIVES! fucking hell. It shouldn't matter if someone can hold down a job or write a poem or use a toilet unassisted.

Ok, but asking the real questions here: is this two by twos cult thing named after the Noah's Ark song?

*wakes up* *grabs breakfast* *logs on* *checks how many powerful people want to kill me and people I love today and in what ways* *feeds the cat* *exercises* *showers* *gets dressed* *checks work email*

A fringe group of bigoted weirdos have dragged British media, government, and law into their hateful obsession with trans people. Grim, depressing, and dangerous. Everyone with power in the UK who's played along should be ashamed of themselves.

I think what it comes down to is I am completely unsurprised Casey Costello is upset about the idea of women being people but Jill Ovens (for all she's annoyed me over the years) really should know better.

SFF story inspired by this written, edited, and actually submitted. It's been a long time since I finished a short story!

On the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, we thought we'd answer a question that's often asked, "If they raised the Mary Rose, why not raise the Titanic?" Allow our scaled diagram to explain...

Okay, I was checking out the reference for this, and the next story is even more 'nuns decide to lesbian it up': "A nun in a German nunnery fell to biting all her companions. In the course of a short time all the nuns of this convent began biting each other."

The absolute fucking cheek of simultaneously claiming "pregnant people" is too hard to understand while also trying to revoke the Plain Language Act though.

As a non-binary person whose expertise includes "making health information easier to understand" today has been an exercise in reaffirming who are friends and allies, and fortunately there are many of them.

Just realised I haven't had a panini in years. Did they stop being a thing, or is it just because I usually work (and therefore lunch) at home?

Always a good day to post this one.

My cozy mystery CHEDDAR LUCK NEXT TIME is out in two days! Yikes! There’s still time to preorder it: print, ebook, & audiobook! @daturabooks.bsky.social #CheddarCountdown amzn.to/41AqahK [promo link] angryrobotbooks.my.canva.site/datura-books...

I'm semi-accidentally in a Facebook group about the history of British post office vehicles and it will probably not surprise you to know it's a more autistic environment than the groups I am in exclusively for autistic people to talk about being autistic.

Oh no I just tried to order a book from a small town bookshop, went through the whole thing setting up an account on their site, and then got to their payment options. The only option is "give us your phone number and we will call for your credit card details". NOPE.
