Criterion had this under “Queer Noir” and uhhh yep!
Just a great movie about how easy it would have been to get away with murder back then, as long as you didn’t obsessively hint about it at a party all night long.

In Kurosawa’s Dreams, color takes center stage in a way that I haven’t quite experienced watching a movie before.
The vibrancy of a Van Gough painting come to life. A sea of endless cherry blossoms dancing in the wind. My man was COOKING here.

I'm actually curious having not played it - worth it for $3.50 to play through solo?

Still have UFO 50 and some other stuff on the docket but Balatro is number one by a mile with a side of Astrobot and Prince of Persia.

Wow this was excellent!
I was prepared for the mockumentary presaging, but it was super clear how much this movie much have influenced Nathan Fielder. Honestly could not stop thinking about it.
Otherwise, damn Albert Brooks really committed to playing a piece of shit here.

We might actually not be that team now, I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Richard Linklater has made some of my favorite films, and somehow this was a gap for me.
Unsurprisingly - an iconic portrayal of the high school experience. Linklater’s signature touch, his attention to the small details that ground a movie in a time and place, are everywhere.
